Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Morning all, sky is clear at the minute but there has definitely been a drop in temperature and I have to agree, May was not warm around these parts.

I got woken up by a Beagle at 4.30 this morning and by the time I got back from the loo the little bugger had got back under the duvet and stayed there for another half hour, cheeky sod

Going to be a crap day I feel, I already have a headache, not a good start to the day fingers crossed it doesn't become a bad one.

Have a good day guys.
Yep really strange weather T . Very cold for June.
Hope the headache eases.

Morning all,, temperature at the moment is a mighty 8 degrees here but at least it’s sunny. Got a call yesterday from our friend (he’s a painter and decorator) , desperate for help as the recent weather means his current job is way behind so Mr. G is off painting for the next couple of days after the morning school run. Grandma is feeling much better after her bladder op. so able to do the afternoon run, which is great, not only does it ease things for us but mostly it means that she is on the road to recovery, which in February looked a very, very long way off.
My friend is away too so I have a day to please myself which will probably involve gardening at my brothers who has hinted he could do with some help.
Have a good day, all and a good holiday @Val P 💙

Well if you are offering help with gardening.........

Good morning all. It's a breezy 10 degrees outside but no rain forecast until 3pm. I'm off to Tesco and/or Lidl soon - rock and roll lifestyle and might be going to the gym. We've a PT session booked in at 1 but unfortunately the daughter had an acciden in work the day before yesterday. She spilled boiling water down her leg and foot ( what is it with my children and feet!!). She has a nasty scald on her leg but she also wears and ankle bracelet, the skin has blistered in that area. I assume the water hit the metal which then became hot and burned the skin. She's on her feet most of the day in work so I'm not sure if she fancies the gym as well before her shift starts. If she doesn't, I might go anyway but cancel the PT session or I might do some gardening as that seems to be the theme of the day1.

The sale of my Dad's house is still going through, the buyers are having the survey done this week , the contracts are ready but not exchanged. I'm hoping it won't be too long - brother in Australia is getting twitchy about wanting his money. Sad but not unexpected.

Have a lovely day folks - hope your headacjes are not too bad @Terrarian and how's Mum today @jazzy

Good morning all on this sunny hot day . What we would give for a cool one ,no not a tinny.I hope all are well and had a great night ,we have had to have the air con on during the night and I am sleeping outside the bed . I am still painting boxes but it gets too hot . @Val P seems to be having a super rest that is I am sure thoroughly deserved ,he said through green eyes .Have a great day all COYB
If I could send you some of this cold weather from here I most certainly would. Between the gales and rain last night, it really doesn’t feel like June.

Maybe an age thing but I seem to be hearing that scenario more and more often. Money and families don’t always mix well.

I totally agree with you Pete. Far too heavy in management. There are some people stealing a living at the top of the NHS.
Some very dodgy dealings too. Under a freedom of information request my brother hit a brick wall when asking who paid the utility bills business rates etc, while Virgin had this contract.

Sorry to hear of your daughter's accident and brother's impatience.

Mum seems absolutely fine. No pain at all , just fingers crossed that the skin heals and she doesn't get an infection.

District Nurse said she would phone me yesterday at 3 pm. Surprise surprise no phone call and in the words of Diana Ross ...I'm still waiting.

Anyway left her making pasties when I went to the gym.

Ouch! Hope your daughter is okay. Hope the house sale goes through quickly, unfortunately inheritance can sometimes bring out the worst in people.

Don't mention pasties to our friend from Kernow .

No Blue , I reckon Anj who is clearly upset or disappointed by his behavior has read him correctly. I totally trust her judgement.

Sadly in my professional position I saw this loads of times . The thought of money just makes some people very greedy.

At Christmas I found out that I was one of 3 , along with my cousin and another who were due to inherit a cousin in laws estate ( he survived our other cousin but is in very bad health).

I was genuinely surprised as I was never that close to my cousin who passed. However all I heard from other cousin at Christmas who also gets a third was how unfair life was , how much he needed the money and how little I needed it. A bit pathetic really and made me all the more determined to claim it when CiL eventually passes on.
