Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

So , good morning everyone.

Nice to wake up up on your birthday but even better if your dogs have behaved themselves and not pulled the duvet off you during the night.

Ah well 1 out of 2 isn't so bad even if I awoke half frozen.

As the guy on the Fast Show used to say "today I shall be mostly drinking wine".

I will go to the gym this morning and kid myself that I've done enough good and burnt enough calories to offset the intake of pasta and vino at the Italian at lunchtime.

Then probably fall asleep and more wine and cheese tonight.

Thanks for all the kind wishes.
Happy birthday Jazzy, hope you have a good one.

Morning all, hope everyone is well. Congratulations on surviving the gym Anj. Welcome @Terrarian. Hope you will find you are amongst friends. I had an experience yesterday, which for once in my life, left me lost for words. We have lived next door but one to our neighbour for over forty years. Over the years she and her late husband became honorary “uncle and auntie “ to our children and lately grandchildren. Although her grandson visits and shops for her the rest of the family can’t or won’t help so we do what we can for her. We enjoy helping her out so it’s not a chore. She‘s 86 and has recently had various health issues which have caused her to as she put it “sort out some things”. She gave me her ruby and diamond ring to remember her by, I was overwhelmed and so wanted to hug and kiss her but of course I couldn’t. Bless you, Blanche and I hope you are with us for a long while yet.

Nice that she is getting the opportunity (and clarity) to show you how much you are appreciated.

Nothing like health scares to really make you appreciate life and the good people in it.

Sounds like an excellent plan. Happy birthday mate!

Thanks mate, I will try not too harp on about health all the time, even though most of my time is dictated to how my health is at any given moment, exhausting at times.
You are a gentleman and scholar for helping the old lady, one thing about our western culture that bothers me is how we ditch the old when they become 'troublesome' for want of a better word.

Saying that I hate my folks so meh lol

Sorry to hear about your daughter and her partner, hope they are okay. Glad to hear you enjoyed yourself yesterday even though you are a bit lighter in the wallet I’m sure it was worth it.

Thanks Gwladys, my eldest daughter isn't too bad but her partner got hot with a blinding headache for a couple okays but he's on the mend now, they have 2 little ones at 2 and 9 who are negative so far.

Lovely story about your neighbour it's nice when your kids grow up with nice people like that in their lives.
I'd forgotten to mention earlier, that is my parents 65th wedding anniversary today, they argue everyday but they'd be totally lost without each othe?

Don't think Mrs J got the message about the Echo and Everton.
I will see what it's like and report back
You're just showing off now Jazz. lol

Happy Birthday mate.

Off out with the neighbour now. We're going for a drive, pick up his favourite pasty for lunch(Anne's pasties down on the Lizard, well known in hese parts), then going for a little walk down to Kynance Cove, the best beach in Cornwall if not the world when the tides out. Google it. Then he's taking me to do my final shop before Xmas in Helston. Might do a little furry dance when I'm there. Helston is the home of the furry dance made famous by Terry Wogan ;)

So I'll catch up on all the posting updates later. Haven't had a proper chance to read them this morning.

Hello again. I have survived the PT at the gym. We did my least favourite thing today. Not that I have any favourites as such. He calls it a prowler. Its like pushing a sled with weights on it. I hate it because I feel ridiculous, head down, arse up "running" while pushing this thing! It's a far from pretty sight. Overweight female of mature years breathing like a hippo on heat and resisting the urge to stab the PT for making me do it. On the positive side once I've finished the session, I do feel quite proud of myself.
Isn't it a good job we can't post visions on here ,wrecked my head that one .Have a great day
