Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Tbh one of the guys in Lincoln they searched was grown man who was 4'11 and queued at the venue 7 hours to get to the front. In the nicest possible way, he probably was a pervert
Haha that's outrageous C. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you were being sarcastic there.

If I were under 5', male or female I think I'd be going for barrier too. For TLDP that means queuing for several hours.

Sorry you felt like you had to go that, but I'm sure you would have been fine tbh mate. I've not really seen much on it on social media, but people were talking about it at my work (including a few girls under 30, straight and bi) and they were all critical of the security/the people complaining if anything, saying it's good older guys are getting into music like that as opposed to listening to the Rolling Stones all the time. I've been to plenty of gigs and club nights on my own, and never thought anything of it but I guess I was a bit younger

It's probably not impossible the date will get cancelled anyway.

Maybe go see them at a festival or something, if you can
A high percentage of their female fan base are lesbian/queer and will have a low opinion of men generally. Plus there is a lot of gatekeeping prevalent in that grouping and they genuinely don't understand why older men would like this band. The fact that there is this talented young band writing and playing the type of music we grew up on is completely lost on them. Plus I'm sure many of them have more than likely suffered some form of harassment at concerts in the past. So you can understand how this has come about.

As for future gigs, their next tour will be arena and I think I would be OK in a designated seating area. The Liverpool gig was standing only, which wouldn't have done much for my bad back either.

Just read a couple of articles about it and it was poorly handled by the security staff. I was surprised to read about the level of harassment and unwanted behaviours that take place at gigs. I would like to say it was different in my day- but it absolutely wasn’t.
Yeah I think harassment of young women at concerts is commonplace and I'm sure some men attend purely because they have easy targets. So I'm not blaming young women here. But by the same token you can't ostracise all men because of the actions of a few, which is what appears to have happened in Lincoln.

Hello chaps, hope everyone's good. Hopefully pick a nice win up against the Geordies later, I hate this K.O time as it's madam's walk time.

I haven't stopped listening to Sleep Token, probably the most original band I've heard in years and the singers voice is very unique, I think this is my fave so far if anyone is interested, They're very good

How are you doing T?

Gorgeous weather for a long Daisy walk today.

Confuse her and tire her out by taking her for an extra long walk at 3 pm and then you can concentrate on watching us lose to the horsepunchers.

Just a thought , hope it helps 😂

Morning all, fine start but a bit misty. Because I’m a nosy cow I enjoy looking at webcams. One of my favourites is the Temple Bar, Dublin, where it seems Christmas has come early as they have all the decorations up! I know Christmas starts early in the hospitality trade but October seems a bit excessive.
Have a good day, all.💙
My son’s stag do was in Dublin. They messaged me to say go on the webcam and when I did they all waved 😂

Ah. The Banksy of the music world. ;) I think their aesthetic is very unique but musically I think the sound like a lot of other bands from the metal genre. But it isn't a genre I normally go out of my way to listen to but neither would I skip through it if it came up on my playlist. You'll be much more adept than me in picking out the nuances and subtleties in their music. They've been around a while though haven't they? Have you only recently discovered them?

Have you come across this band at all T?. Probably my favourite rock band at the moment. The lead was giving surfing lessons in Newquay just a couple of years ago so I'm probably biased.

I actually have a new "project" on the go. A band called Luvcat which is essentially a young scouser called Sophie Morgan (yes Jazzy. she is a poppet and has been known to play the guitar ). I first came across her last December via a Lou Smith video (the London based YouTuber who effectively discovered TLDP) and since then has become quite popular on TikTok. Just a few months ago she was crowd funding to raise money to release her first single. She now has 700k monthly listeners on Spotify, her second single released 3 weeks ago has 2.5m Spotify streams and 700k YouTube plays and been played on Radio 1. Funnily enough TLDP have recently taken her under their wing, promoting her songs on their social media, getting her signed to their booking agents and taking her on tour as a second opener across Europe next month.

This is her second single which I'm not overly keen on. She has much better songs IMO.
