Afternoon guys. Hope you are all well. Sorry I haven't been on much recently but it's been a funny old time for me of late. This week hasn't been much better. Some of you may be aware that I was planning on travelling back up to Liverpool next weekend to see The Last Dinner Party in concert. Well over the last few days there's been a lot of discourse, both in mainstream media and social media, surrounding the large number of solo males over a certain age attending the bands concerts. On social media in particular it's become a bit of a gender battle and all very unsavoury. TBH I was a little bit wary of going anyway as it would be the first concert I've ever attended solo plus I've never been to a concert where the majority of the audience were young females. Anyway after much deliberation I've come to the decision that attending would take me completely out of my comfort zone and yesterday I sold my ticket. But I'm absolutely gutted as I was so looking forward to it. To make matters worse I actually feel a bit of a fraud feeling like this as there's so much crap going in the world right now that it's trivial to get so worked up over something so meaningless by comparison.

The good news is that it's nearly time for G&T Friday and I may treat myself a bit earlier today. I feel as though I deserve it.

This is what I hate about social media, it creates situations like this where you are not doing something you want to because of others skewed perceptions. I’m sorry you’re not going but I absolutely get why not. So sad. And it makes you think - we are sensible adults - what impact does this have on kids behaviour who are influenced by it.
Anyway enjoy your G and T it sounds like just the thing for tonight. I’m having a tequila and orange but I won’t bother posting a pic as it’s in a smokey glass so you can’t see anything- but cheers

We keep saying we are going to go up for a game but haven’t done it yet. £200,000 can’t be much in terms of generating money, I bet if they set up a go fund me people would chip in - I bet a lot of evertonians would. Maybe he should do a hugathon like Gomes did - that’s got to be worth a few pounds of anyone’s money (well mine 😂)

Sorry you felt like you had to go that, but I'm sure you would have been fine tbh mate. I've not really seen much on it on social media, but people were talking about it at my work (including a few girls under 30, straight and bi) and they were all critical of the security/the people complaining if anything, saying it's good older guys are getting into music like that as opposed to listening to the Rolling Stones all the time. I've been to plenty of gigs and club nights on my own, and never thought anything of it but I guess I was a bit younger

It's probably not impossible the date will get cancelled anyway.

Maybe go see them at a festival or something, if you can

Just read a couple of articles about it and it was poorly handled by the security staff. I was surprised to read about the level of harassment and unwanted behaviours that take place at gigs. I would like to say it was different in my day- but it absolutely wasn’t.

Oh Fred. I'm really sorry for you , I know how much you were looking forward to that gig. I actually read the article about this and bizarrely thought of you until I realized that it was Lincoln ( I think). Anyway its just not right that single men don't feel able to go to a gig.

Thank you I did, the afternoon tea was lovely- all the waitresses and waiters were dressed in Victorian costume and it was served on lovely china. Felt very refined - didn’t feel like I could talk about football or swear 😂. And grandma cuddles were off the scale gorgeous 💙

Tbh one of the guys in Lincoln they searched was grown man who was 4'11 and queued at the venue 7 hours to get to the front. In the nicest possible way, he probably was a pervert

I hope you enjoyed your GnT Fred. on balance while it’s easy to say words like don’t let them get to you …. social media has created some genuinely horrid inter gender nastiness , I think you made a wise and I hope delicious choice
It’s 4:20 am and now I would love a GnT can I still claim it’s Friday night ?

As long as the sun hasn't risen . No pics of your paintings for a while ,you have lots of fans on here despite one flawed comment I am sure you have recovered from .So let's see your latest masterpiece .
