Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Hello everybody. How are you all. It's been freezing here today. I've had the heating on. I did overtime this morning and @Barnfred 55 I've just picked the winner of the Cesarewich - based entirely on the trainer having the same name as me before I got married. Not a bad day so far.
Everything is set for completion on Dad's house next Friday. I'm feeling a bit stressed about having to deal with so much money landing in the bank account I'm in charge of as his executor! I'm thinking of going to Liverpool on Wednesday to say goodbye to it. It really is the end of an era.
Not much else to tell you - Chris has his 3rd immunotherapy treatment soon. He's been OK so far, the only side effect he is experiencing is prickly heat. He's got super strong anti histamines which seem to help with the itch.
I was quite surprised by Lee Carsley's decisions against Greece. I can't see the point of starting without a striker when you have somebody like Watkins in the squad.
Enjoy the rest of your Saturday folks x

I’m not sure I can take anymore. The week after next we bury one of my best mates. Then another mate and his wife sat with me tonight to say he has just been diagnosed with cancer of the liver, a biopsy to follow to see if there’s anything they can do, but probably not. He said he’s in permanent pain, he’s lost weight and he struggles to eat anything. If there really is a God up there can you please stop this incessant death toll……

I have strong faith and Jesus has put you there for a reason. Be strong and counsel .

Just listen and support

It must be comforting to have that faith AT.

Personally I have no time for religion, I think that it has caused more problems and been the reason for conflict than anything else. Not having a go but I've never accepted the argument that someone ( Pete in this case ) has to put up with the mental anguish that he is going through "for a reason ".

@peteblue no one deserves the trials and tribulations that you are having to endure but I suspect that the timing is coincidence occasioned by advancing years.

Anyway I'm sure that Blue will come along with more of his karaoke stories to cheer us up.

Another lovely day today so I hope y'all have a great time.

It was freezing yesterday here too, we had hailstone showers. It is a strange feeling closing down a family home isn’t it. A good few years after mum died I drove past as it wasn’t on a route I would normally take and it broke my heart as my mum was super house proud and it just looked like a dump - windows were filthy and the garden was overgrown - I wish I hadn’t been. Great to hear Chris is progressing well - long may that continue.

Good morning all on this dark morn .I hope all are well and had a good night .
I feel for you @peteblue as it does seem a never ending ebb at this time , there is nothing we can do but be here for you ,I side with @jazzy on the faith side but I also wish that I had a belief that would help in hard times as does @Armaghtoffee . Sadly neither can stop things happening that as Jazzy says come with our age ,so we have to cherish the ones we are left with . Our nearest neighbour who has dementia has now lost 30 kilos and they suspect he has cancer ,around the back of our place another told us two days ago he has throat cancer and he is a lot younger than me .
The karoke that I bought that doesn't work is now up and running and once I tune my instrument will be put through it's paces and a video posted on here .Suggestions on a postcard please
Have a great day all COYB .

Morning all, now clouding over after a lovely sunny start which is bad news as I have just put a second lot of washing on. It’s the Great Eastern run today which means our road is closed off at the junction with the route. There have been signs in place for at least three weeks but as happens every year it will come as a complete surprise to some motorists who harangue the stewards when told to find an alternative route ( there are plenty) or even worse they try to remove the barriers or mount the pavement.🤬
Great news about Chris, @anjelikaferrett. My brother lives in my parents old home so it is still in the family but sometimes I still expect to find her pottering in the garden somewhere. I have taken a screenshot of a past view of the house on street view on Google Earth as I know at the time it was taken she would be sitting in the living room. Daft I know but to me she is there, captured in time.
@peteblue so sorry to hear the news of your friend and that you are having such a sad time at the moment, as others have said it comes with growing older, wise words from @blue1948 cherish the ones that are left and remember happy times.
Have a good day, all.💙

Man has been the reason for the conflict, not the religion.

We all are born with different paths to walk but we are always where we are meant to be. Pete is suffering now but he is easing the pain of those around him while dealing with his own. Call it fate if you prefer it to religion but we are all here with a purpose greater than ourselves.
