A lovely Italian girl working as a waitress part time served us in a superb restaurant and when we got talking she said she also worked in a hotel and her boss was also from Liverpool.

What are the odds on that?

I think a lot do. She said she works 12 hours a day, every day for 6 months of the year and then does nothing ( apart from pick olives!).

Very interesting young woman writing her third novel. First 2 published but didn't sell very well. "Winter is the perfect time to write " she said

The owner who the bar is named after was in the papers a day or two ago. Apparently he didn’t used to sell half pints but now does for £4.95….

Landlord lifts ban selling half pints - but charges staggering amount

But customers who want a half-pint at Bittles Bar in Belfast will have to pay the extortionate price of £4.95 despite full pints costing £5.80.

Local media reported exactly that at the time . I was working around the corner from it today and thought it would be a good image to share of the city. I did smile at his description of ‘touristy people’ given that his bar is literally right beside the biggest shopping area that Belfast has to offer.
