Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

The road at Wrightington hospital was terrible but we went through that not knowing how bad it was .

There were 2 flooded sections of Lancaster Lane . The first wasn't too bad but the 2 and was impassable there was a car and even a 4x4 stuck so we turned around and went down Parbold Hill and predictably at the bottom by the Wayfairer it was flooded. Most cars were turning around but as the alternative for us was to go back through the flood at Wrightington the taxi driver chanched it and we just made it through. Road also flooded at Briars Lane but not so bad.

Never seen the roads so bad Val.
Yes this is the worst it’s been around here isn’t it. Was it the fish pond at Wrightington or just water on the roads? This morning Gathurst railway bridge was still impassable but when I went to my sons at 10 o clock the roads through Parbold were clear thank goodness. I think we’ll see more of this too this coming winter.

Hi folks I've been dying to tell you this news and now I can. Me and Mr F are going to be grandparents at the end of April. Not the newly weds but Charlotte and her boyfriend. We are delighted. I'm working on it being an Evertonian- Dad is a Middlesbrough fan.
That’s amazing news. It’s the best feeling ever - massive congratulations to you all xxxx

Good morning all on this hazy day here .I hope all are well and had a good night .We have decided (the wife ) that we will buy in firewood (me ) this winter so the first two of three loads has arrived in I now have to tidy the wood shed by moving the remaining wood over and start afresh on the storage side so that we can use the drier wood first . That and preparing the meat for Pasta Carbonara are my chores this morning .Have a great day all COYB

A cautionary tale for you blue

Morning everyone,

Well unfortunately my cold ( or perhaps worse ) that I brought back from Rhodes has worsened .

I am due to go to a concert at the Phil tonight but don't have the energy and beyond that hardly fair on other theatre goers for me to sniffle and cough the whole way through let alone infect everyone sat near me.

Bit miffed as it ruined the holiday and I was really looking forward to this gig.

Ah well c'est la vie.

Have a lovely day everyone.

Congratulations, it’ll be exciting times when the baby arrives.

Morning all. Last night we went to Aberdeen to see Les Mis - The Arena Spectacular with Alfie Bow/ Michael Ball and it really was a true spectacle and wonderful event which worked really well in the large arena. “ Bring him home” always sadly reminds me of George Best’s funeral, I think it was played then, but it was used in the tv coverage as they flew his body back to Belfast. Poignant. One of the greatest footballers I ever saw.

Hello everybody. We've just completed on Dad's house so I'm just looking for flights to a convenient tax haven with no UK extradition treaty!🤣 That was a joke!!
Chris had a bit of a setback today. His treatment has been paused ( it was due on Tuesday) because he is experiencing side effects which are something like prickly heat - mad itchy and a red rash. While he was having his blood tests today to check everything was OK for Tuesday the rash erupted. They have given him steroids and super strong antihistamines. They are going to see what he's like in a week. I'm not too worried because as far as his surgeon is concerned he is cancer free but this treatment was a protective measure to prevent it recurring. Hopefully it will all settle down and he can continue as planned.
