Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Evening everyone,

So for the first time in 4 weeks I tentatively returned to some physical activity.

Did a yoga session in the gym. Well thought I might have lost a bit of flexibility but it's the first time I've ever been blowing for tugs in a yoga session 😂.

Anyway I have a table tennis match tomorrow night ( can't get out of it ) so did an hour's gentle practice this afternoon.

Bear in mind my practice is usually for 3 hours and I really limited my movements but despite that I've never sweated so much in my life but I feel a lot better having actually done something ( even though I played crap ).

Hopefully the worst of this bloody virus is in the past.

Anyway my turn to cook tonight and I fancy something really basic so it's sausage , egg and chips - nice comfort food.

Have a lovely evening everyone.

Glad you are feeling a bit better….

Take it easy this virus could bite yer ass if you overdo it .

A wonderfully mild day that makes for a nice morning/early afternoon of walking in shorts and tee. I took some time off and I won’t be bored I can tell you.

Started to watch Agatha All Along on Disney+ yesterday and ended up binging the first four episodes. A gentle Halloween watch to get the scary vibes going. With Masterchef starting last night, and the last of Only Murders in the Building to finish, I need my steps in now so I can curl up in the afternoon and indulge 😀

Morning all, after a lovely day yesterday we are back to cloud but at least it’s fairly mild. In the Spring Jess planted some pumpkin seeds and persuaded my brother to give her a bit of his garden for a pumpkin patch. Must have been a good year for pumpkins as she had quite an impressive crop. I think I can take some credit as if I was in charge of feeding and watering. Yesterday we were invited to help her and Hannah with the carving, we did eight and I can safely say I don’t mind if I never do another. We still had seven left which we put on the front lawn, free to a good home.
Glad @jazzy and @Barnfred 55 are both feeling better. Will be thinking of you all today @anjelikaferrett, hope Chris has good news and his fears are eased.
Have a good day, all.💙

Good morning folks. I'm pleased to hear @jazzy and @Barnfred 55 are starting to feel like themselves again. Well done on the pumpkins @Gwladysover. I'm very impressed. I'm going home today. Chris is definitely happier in himself We're currently in a marathon Lord of The Rings viewing. Film 2 has just started 🤣.
Charlotte ( daughter) has just messaged me to say she has found a house to rent so that's very exciting- she wants to move out before the baby arrives - which I completely understand. It's not too far from us. I can't believe Mr F and I are going to be empty nesters! Speaking of Mr F I've bought tickets for the Dublin racing Festival at Leopardstown next February. Also got flights with Aer Lingus from Leeds Bradford for a very reasonable price. So Belfast on 5 Jan and Dublin on 1 Feb! Should be fun.
My poorly friend is doing much better - still in hospital but out of ITU. Still a long road ahead for him. He will need extensive surgery on his leg to rebuild the lost tissue.
I've also put my name down on the new ground season ticket list - a retirement goal 🤣
Have a lovely day all x

You sound very chipper Anj and that’s good to hear. Where you meant to be in Belfast before then or did I just imagine it?

Another Saturday and another three points to look forward to later.

I will be at the Armagh football final (Clan na Gael v Clann Eireann) at 6pm then straight home to watch the recording of the Everton game. After a rough week, just work not personal, I definitely feel the need for a nice lunch and a few drinks pre game. First time in a very long time I have felt sick with stress and I ended up angry at myself for allowing it to happen. It has all washed over me now with the reset button pushed to remind me that life is too short.
I was very close to a lot of my clients (too close tbh) which became a problem when I had to say no to them. It rarely occurred in the old days as nearly all of them were millionaires, in assets at least. But many of them were in to property and during the property squeeze of around 2009-2013 (when I retired) we just closed the door to them. Even for residential mortgages. I took it hard and it really affected my health. I absolutely hated my final 5 years in the bank and jumped at the opportunity for redundancy/early retirement. I'd always been pretty good at separating home/work life but that was a bad time for me. I'm glad you've been able to sort your head out mate. I know from experience that it is horrible. I imagine Anj must have had some terrible experiences when she was a union rep.
