Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Yep I remember Woolton golf club very snobby bunch of members, I never played golf when I lived in the UK, only posh people played I thought at the time

Fred we must of both been in one of the pubs in Woolton at some stage of our lives

Baby Elephant, Coffee House the Grapes
And of course The Squires at the end of the night trying to cop off :)
We must have crossed paths at some point!

Woolton Golf Club were our clients when I was assistant manager in Woolton.. We had our Xmas party there one year and at the time they had a bar that was men only. Cal deliberately went in there to get served just to get a reaction. When they refused to serve her she called them all a load of old farts before walking out. I was so proud of her but my boss who was a member there had a duck egg. :)

Respect for Cal….

I used to go to the Baby Elephant now and again but not the others , it was a bit of a trek from Picton road. Although I did go to the Woolton Picture House , they weren’t bothered if you were 18 or not.

I went there once with a member of my staff. He had his own parking spot, Captain or Vice Captain or something. Anyway when we went in a chap who must have run the place kept calling him Captain or Vice Captain and Sir. Having grown up in Huyton, I found this whole experience a bit nauseating. Now don’t get me wrong, as a Huyton scruff who did well I’ve been entertained in salubrious surroundings from Hong Kong to Singapore, Munich to Washington, but it always felt friendly and never ‘snobby’. I can well understand Cal’s viewpoint on this matter and hopefully these places have changed for the better. Apologies to any golf Captains or Vice Captains in here…..

Evening everyone,

So for the first time in 4 weeks I tentatively returned to some physical activity.

Did a yoga session in the gym. Well thought I might have lost a bit of flexibility but it's the first time I've ever been blowing for tugs in a yoga session 😂.

Anyway I have a table tennis match tomorrow night ( can't get out of it ) so did an hour's gentle practice this afternoon.

Bear in mind my practice is usually for 3 hours and I really limited my movements but despite that I've never sweated so much in my life but I feel a lot better having actually done something ( even though I played crap ).

Hopefully the worst of this bloody virus is in the past.

Anyway my turn to cook tonight and I fancy something really basic so it's sausage , egg and chips - nice comfort food.

Have a lovely evening everyone.
Glad you’re feeling better Jazzy

That’s brilliant - good for her!

Morning all, just catching up. What strikes me is just how much people care about their work and the clients they dealt or are dealing with. I can relate to this too. I think it says you are the best kind of person for the job. Sometimes certain individuals or situations just get to you, especially when you can’t help them for whatever reason.
I hope you get your season ticket Anj, I’ve got the email this week to confirm my years as a season ticket holder - they’re currently looking for at least 23 years for the first batch and husband and I easily fit into that category- son has 22 so don’t know exactly how that’s going to work. Youngest nephew has only 10. I think there’s been a bit of a backlash and a statement came out yesterday I understand saying that children who sit with their parents will be ok. Wouldn’t be Everton without a minor cock up tho.
Have a great Thursday everyone and happy Halloween 🎃 💙

Does your son sit with you ? Or is there an age limit?
