Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Glad you’re feeling better Jazzy
Thanks Val.

Played TT last night. Won 2 out of 3 games but boy was I struggling. At times I could hardly catch my breath but I think I sweated a lot of the toxins out.

Nice easy gym session today but got a decent sweat on with some cardio but strictly no weights 😂.

Mrs J off to the rescue today so I will start cooking a spicy bean casserole soon.

Have a lovely day everyone.

I went there once with a member of my staff. He had his own parking spot, Captain or Vice Captain or something. Anyway when we went in a chap who must have run the place kept calling him Captain or Vice Captain and Sir. Having grown up in Huyton, I found this whole experience a bit nauseating. Now don’t get me wrong, as a Huyton scruff who did well I’ve been entertained in salubrious surroundings from Hong Kong to Singapore, Munich to Washington, but it always felt friendly and never ‘snobby’. I can well understand Cal’s viewpoint on this matter and hopefully these places have changed for the better. Apologies to any golf Captains or Vice Captains in here…..
That would have been nearly 35 years ago Pete. I worked at Woolton branch 90/91. I believe it has changed quite a lot and isn't as snobby these days. My best mate Nick is a member there now. Funnily enough he was at that same Xmas party where Cal kicked off and it was his wife who went to the bar with her. :)

Good evening all. I've had a drama free day today which has been lovely. I can't pretend that the last few days haven't been tough but all appears to be calm today. The oncology appointment went well - tapering him off steroids with a view to restarting treatment in December. Scan on November 9th.
The Woolton village chat has made me smile. We went in all of the previously mentioned and also The Elephant. We went for a meal there for a mate's 21st birthday, we ordered Blue Nun and thought we had cracked the heights of sophistication. I used to quite like Gateacre Village for drinking too. Also The Childwall Abbey pub.

Evening everyone, today we have been to town on the bus with grandkids nos. 3 & 4. I think I’ve mentioned before bus travel is a novelty for them so when asked what they would like to do they always ask to go out on the bus. They now have a pass courtesy of the Council which entitles them to bus journeys for £1, something the council have actually done right. The city centre is pretty cr*p but the museum is always worth a visit and they put on some good fun activities in the school holidays. This weeks theme is School of Wizardry and Wonder, the girls passed the course by correctly identifying the clues and casting the spell, involving a black cat and received a certificate, Nanny didn’t she thought it was a black cockerel.  .
Good news about Chris @anjelikaferrett so glad that things have calmed down for you all.

I think I read something that said if you have different levels or points or whatever that you should wait until the person with the least points gets notified they can buy and you can all choose your seats together.
Yes that’s right but if we have to wait for the one with the shortest time we may not end up where we want to be - who knows? Just have to wait and see

Glad the appointment went well, fingers crossed for a positive scan result next week x

Wonderful news.

Only went to the Baby Elephant a couple of times when we were living in Huyton.

On the subject of wine ( which y'all know is one of my favourite topics) I thought my palate had really matured when I graduated from Blue Nun to Piesporter 😂.

Good morning all on this snow covered day here . What wonderful news for Chris @anjelikaferrett ,weaning someone from a treatment or drug is always a good thing .Good luck with the scan now and we are all set for a Happy Xmas .
I changed our tyres just yesterday so that was good timing ,it is only just enough to cover and will probably melt during the day ,that won't stop all the kids wanting their sleds and skis out ! It amazes me to see them out at many degrees below bare hands sitting in the snow and building snowmen, well actually you can't at many below as the snow is too dry but you get the gist .
I have just been informed the first lorry has been reported in a ditch on our main road ,they don't have the studs we can have on cars so the first of many this winter .
I am reading in puzzlement at how the seat /season ticket situation is panning out ,as a fan of maths I am struggling to see how a greater capacity is making the situation harder . Is it that in some cases corresponding sides have lower capacity than Goodison ?
Have a great day all COYB
