Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Did a bit more bonfire cleaning up today. Got the mobile magnet going over it and picked up a mass of nails. Re-raked it all which brought out yet more. Anyway having got rid of masses of burnt wood and nails, I’ve got one line raked up and ready to be sorted which I’ll do once my back recovers. Our pub deputy manager had suggested that her teenage son help me and foolishly I said I’d cope. I went into the pub later and said to her that if I ever refuse help in the future to ignore me, call me an idiot and send him anyway…..

Morning everyone,

It's bloody freezing here this morning and we have a warning of snow even at our low level from this evening.

So Mrs J will make loads of soups and I will bring in loads of firewood so we can be warm and cosy.

Unusually I watched the England game last night and wasn't impressed by the boys in white shirts but when did Everton switch to green shirts as their away strip?

Also watched the women's derby. You know that the club have got it right when you have the same identity and way of playing throughout the club......yep the women have acquired the habit of being unable to control the ball , giving away possession by hoofball, heroic defending in a low block and playing for a set piece goal. However unlike the men , they actually won.

Congratulations Sean , great legacy to leave the club.

Have a lovely day everyone.

A brilliantly sunny but very cold day here. I’ve just put up a Christmas tree for a charity that’s Mrs bl helps out with , it’s been in our garage for years unused , the earliest I’ve ever put up a tree I think! As they meet above our local library I took the opportunity to take back one book and come out with two more. Since rediscovering the library a few months ago I’ve also rekindled my love of wandering around finding random books I’d been aware of but never read. Today’s was the 2020 Booker Prize winner “ Shughie Bain “ . Have a great day all.

Great book but a tough read
