I was up at seven walking the dog (difficult one today) but now I've had my pre-match breakfast ,so it's time for my son to leave to watch Everton.Early morning walk completed and I feel much fresher after it. It’s crazy to think of the amount of food you eat on Christmas Day and I will be doing the same today at a big family meet up. Everton game takes priority of course and I think that will need a few festive beverages to get through it.
Give them an extra cheer for us Phil!I was up at seven walking the dog (difficult one today) but now I've had my pre-match breakfast ,so it's time for my son to leave to watch Everton.
I thought she worked in a prison Anj. Or did I just make that up?Merry Christmas all. It looks like you have all had very nice days. As we are a day ahead of you we have spent today eating leftovers and drinking . However we did ho to Seaton Carew this morning ( beach near Hartlepool) and walked along the seafront. It was so mild, I couldn't believe it. Lots of dogs being walked- most of whom looked they had new Christmas jackets on. Had a chat to Chris who is entertaining his inlaws. It is all going well. Charlotte has just come in from work. She left at 10am this morning. The hotel she works in served 150 guests Christmas dinner. She was second in command of the service. All went well apparently.
Enjoy the rest of the day x
Result Fred!Happy Boxing Day guys. How's the hangover?
Had a nice surprise yesterday when I got to the neighbours. I think I may have mentioned that I do enjoy my brown turkey meat. Well Michele had already told me that they had a turkey crown for Xmas day. It's probably a good time to explain that we were having dinner at Sam's who lives directly opposite me (literally 10 meters door to door). But the cooking was split between Sam's and Michele's, who lives 2 doors away. I was very pleasantly surprised when Michele rolls up with what appeared to be a whole cooked turkey under the tinfoil. Apparently they were in Waitrose on Xmas eve and they were selling off their leftover fresh turkey's at rock bottom prices. So they decided to buy one and freeze the crown. I'm succinctly aware that I'm the only one that likes the brown meat so they've done this for me, which is nice. But Rob also likes a bargain and he'll get hours of future entertainment telling how he got this £60 turkey for under £15.
Anyway, lunch was very nice and I was given a goody bag to takeaway, basically another xmas dinner which I'll be having tonight. Now I don't have any stuff in to make gravy, so I'll be making a Chinese chippy curry sauce to go with it. A new dimension to the usual turkey curry. I'll let you know how it goes.
I was really good last night and didn't have another alcoholic beverage after I got home. So I don't have the normal stinking boxing day hangover that usually defines my day and will probably partake in a nice glass of Malbec with my second xmas dinner tonight.
Anyway, hope you all have an enjoyable day and don't let the footie ruin it for you.
She used to but decided she hated it She was fine with the actual job but hated all the BS , politics and slowness to get anything done ( typical Civil Service/ public sector) She applied for a job in the hotel as a temporary measure - bar/restaurant work and two nights as the night reception. Six months later they promoted her to her current role - wedding and events Supervisor. Her boss said that she was putting people who had worked there for years to shame! Charlotte is very organised and a real grafter. I think she has by a happy coincidence found her niche. She loves it.I thought she worked in a prison Anj. Or did I just make that up?
How could anyone be hungover with the sheer amount of food eaten to soak up the grog??Happy Boxing Day guys. How's the hangover?

Mother and daughter AT. The son lives next door but one the other way too and the neighbours goddaughter in-between us. The goddaughter's cousin lives opposite her.How could anyone be hungover with the sheer amount of food eaten to soak up the grog??
You have a nice little community around you mate. Good to see neighbours working together and sharing occasions like that.
Great news , Cyclades or Dodecanese?Good afternoon all. We're still on leftovers. Today's l7nch was turkey , ham, salad ( we need some greenery!) and , my fave, piccalilli.
I'm about to have a drink now.
I've also booked flights and ferries for a bit of Greek Island hopping next Sept/October.
As for the match....so far so good.
