Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

So Kay is neatly tucked up and fast asleep. Saturday, without carers, was the first day this week where we didn’t have a wet bed or wet nightclothes. I don’t blame the carers, but having cancelled the care package has relaxed us all and we appear to be getting back into our pre-hospital routine. The care company and the council said that if we ever do need assistance in the future to just phone up the numbers they have given me…so we are now ‘in the system’……..

The main thing is mate you have to do what works for you and the family, seems like it works the way it was before the carers , and down the road if needed you know you can get them back involved if you need them.

Good morning all on this brisk day here .I am finding it hard to remember what day it is and this will continue until next Wednesday at least . Great news that @pete has a routine back ,that is the most important thing .Only three people matter in this Pete Kay and their son hwo is also doing a sterling job ,in my ex's family I had a very poorly BIL and his brother shuns all care and left it to others ,so I do appreciate the effert he too puts in . I hope all had a good night and have a lovely relaxing day .
My task today is to try and determine the distance to Venus from us without googling ,these are the things that keep me awake .The bones I am working with are .
One I know the degrees above the horizon and our latitude and I can use AT as another point as he started it (without knowing ) then I have to find the distance from his latitude to mine -not the distance on the map as that includes the curvature of the earth -then establish the degrees above the horizon for AT and using trig try to find the distance ,yes there will be flaws but it will be interesting to see how close I get in numerical terms .
Time for a cuppa and then back to bed to sort this out !
Have a great day all.COYB

Well I have given up ,I imagined I would take two places the same height above sea level,Armagh would not be a good second choice as we are too near ,then calculate distance angles etc. that is far above my level of maths now given that it is fact that the sea levels are not the same .One interesting fact ,there is a mean sea level used for calculating heights especially for the needs of aircraft ,there is a place in the middle of the Indian Ocean that is 106 metres below the global mean . The MSL for the UK was calculated from the Victoria dock before 1921 ,so perhaps BMD by association !

And how did I start this blue?

This is the best time of year to see Venus I think, so much so that it took my attention from the TV quite a bit at nights. My favourite chair at home faces Southwest and gives me a perfect view of Venus around 6pm or so.

Did you watch the new Brian Cox series, Solar System, on BBC?

Morning everyone,

Off to Goodison today and despite expecting a defeat at the hands of "mighty" Nottingham Forest I am pretty excited as this may well be my last visit for a match ( stadium tour planned for March ).
Are you going to do the walking tour of the city this morning. ;) Seriously though, have a great time and hope you bring the lads good luck.
