Yeah, the neighbours don't do NY which is fine by me. Just watching TOTP and my favourite midget guitarist is a guest on Sophies NY show so I'll probable tune into that.

My only experience if a Portuguese NY was in Madeira and they party hard.

Hopefully you'll get to see them next year mate, the whole thing was ridiculous imo. My gigs for this year currently are/were Charli, Tinashe and Lana del Rey, no trouble with that kind of stuff so far

Larger venue with seating and personal space would suit me fine mate.

I don't think there's been any trouble tbh. Just the thought of it is enough for me though C. Still a bit fragile with some things.

Got some TGI Friday party food from Iceland for tonight. There was an offer on 3 items, which is probably being a bit greedy but who's counting. Anyway just looked at the cooking instructions and they're all different. I'll need a spreadsheet to work this out. Anyway I poured myself another G&T and stuck the oven on. I'll worry about it later.. I have a nice Malbec to go with the food.

The red wines are 20-30 a bottle ha, not cheap. We have a wine subscription where we pay 60 a month for 3 bottles. It started as a lockdown thing but we love it, they create a meal for one of the wines of the month too, which we always cook. We have a 4 year old so don't go out as much as we used to, so we waste it on wine and running races. Could be worse

I'm at home, but my gf and our kid have gone to our aunties to see the family. I've seen everyone a lot recently and at times I'm only there who doesn't understand conversational Portuguese apart from the kids, and the other English person isn't there tonight so I thought id eat and watch a film. I'm actually ok in Portuguese but it's different when everyone else is fluent

Coincidentally my red wine tonight is Portuguese, I’m not a wine expert so I don’t know whether it’s a good one or not but it’s very nice

I've cooked 5 course Indian meals for 8 people that was less stressful.

It was all going well until I had to add sauce to the ribs 5 mins before the end of cooking. There was a fair bit of fat in the bottom of the casserole dish that I decided needed to go. As I was tipping it down the sink one of the ribs fell out into a bowl of dirty washing. I applied the 5 seconds rule. It was fine.

I know what you mean, I did a Marks and Spencer gastro meal deal as I couldn’t be bothered proper cooking and each item was ready at a different time. I ended up with a list of what had to go in and when and set my phone alarm accordingly. Then the pepper sauce for the steak was microwaveable and I put in on for the correct time and the damn bag burst and splattered everywhere. 5 second rule - hastily gathered it up and spooned it onto the steak. It was fine

Portuguese wine is in a good place at the moment where it is fairly cheap but not popular enough for rubbish stuff to be about, all my gf's family moan about the wine is the UK price, which is fair enough ha

I'm not an expert but the Druoro (sp) is very reliable
