Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

No idea blue? Wasn’t Dyche anyway.

Speaking of proper hard workers, just booked my first away day to watch All Ireland Champions Armagh (I will never get tired of saying that 😀). First match is in beautiful Salthill, Galway. Truly one of the nicest places I have ever been to and I don’t just mean for footballing purposes. With trips to Donegal and Kerry already booked, and the hope of a league final in Dublin, I may have already attended my last game at Goodison.

Sounds like some great trips coming up for you….

Happy New Year's Eve everyone. Mon dieu it is awful out there. Blowing a gale and hammering down , put paid to my thoughts of having a pint before the festivities begin.

So , a roaring fire and some vino before watching a film and then some party food and Jools Holland.

Have a good one everyone.
I though C would have had you watching Sophie Jazz.😀

Happy New Year’s Eve everyone- a quiet one for us, nice steak and bottle of red with bubbles for the rest of the night. Not sure I’ll make it to midnight at this rate due to my status as a lightweight. Hope you all have a wonderful evening 🥂💙
Well I'll wish you all the best now then Val.

A red with bubbles.? The only one of those I've ever seen was a Lambrusco. If you're on that you should make it through to the wee hours Val.😀

You get all types of wine with bubbles, and you can spend less on a good sparkling red or even a rose (though not as much) than a white due to its popularity. It's not a heavy red tho, I have two at home and one is 11% and the other is 9.5%

I knew you can get sparkling rose. Always enjoyed a glass eating Al fresco. Bit more fussy about the red wine though.😀

What's your plans for tonight C. Quiet night in with the missus?

Got some TGI Friday party food from Iceland for tonight. There was an offer on 3 items, which is probably being a bit greedy but who's counting. Anyway just looked at the cooking instructions and they're all different. I'll need a spreadsheet to work this out.😀 Anyway I poured myself another G&T and stuck the oven on. I'll worry about it later.. I have a nice Malbec to go with the food.

The red wines are 20-30 a bottle ha, not cheap. We have a wine subscription where we pay 60 a month for 3 bottles. It started as a lockdown thing but we love it, they create a meal for one of the wines of the month too, which we always cook. We have a 4 year old so don't go out as much as we used to, so we waste it on wine and running races. Could be worse

I'm at home, but my gf and our kid have gone to our aunties to see the family. I've seen everyone a lot recently and at times I'm only there who doesn't understand conversational Portuguese apart from the kids, and the other English person isn't there tonight so I thought id eat and watch a film. I'm actually ok in Portuguese but it's different when everyone else is fluent

Are you just chilling at home?

Yeah, the neighbours don't do NY which is fine by me. Just watching TOTP and my favourite midget guitarist is a guest on Sophies NY show so I'll probable tune into that.

My only experience if a Portuguese NY was in Madeira and they party hard.

Starting off the festivities with a G&T. What else?. Hope you're all able to enjoy your NYE, whatever you're upto. Cheers everyone.

Cheers @Barnfred 55 , I thought I’d join you , Aatta Gin from Orkney, a Christmas present from Mrs bl . So far so good, but I suspect I’ll change to my other favourite Orcadian product, single malt Highland Park, soon !
