Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

I feel ignorant now not answering lol, didn't think anyone would be on.

We chilled out yesterday, it was wet and cold but we've just been around the park, still freezing though.

I am slipknotting at the minute, not listened to them for a while so it's good catching up, very talented group who will bypass a lot of people because of the screamo element of Corey's singing but I he's got such a good voice, I enjoy it. Love some Greenday as well, another I don't listen too enough.
You have know been enlightened, we are usually here not matter the day lol

Good afternoon lovely friends.

I’m just waking up and catching up with some post. Unlike @Barnfred 55 I actually behaved last night, except for an afternoon beer, I didn’t have much to drink but I had plenty the previous days so I needed the break. Yesterday after coming back home we had a fun time opening gifts again with our daughter. Which it gets overwhelming for me given she has been receiving gifts for three days since her birthday is so close to Christmas. She is indeed a very fortunate girl, so we will be gathering the toys that she doesn’t play with any longer and donate those to the local woman’s shelter and that way kids less fortunate than her can have some toys too. Like @Gwladysover our house is looking a bit messy after Christmas but like @jazzy I already gathered a lot of the paper and cardboard to recycle but need to straighten out the house a bit more before I depart to my mum’s again. Like @anjelikaferrett kids, I really enjoy spending time with my parents, with all my family, Colombians we tend to be very family driven. So I’m going to spend the next few days at her place. My aunt and cousin are still there visiting because my mum’s birthday is coming up on the 28th. I don’t have to get back to work until Jan 3rd and nothing makes my mama happier than having her kids around so Im going to give her that joy and stay there with them the next few days.

Although it is nice that Everton won’t be ruining our Sunday, I was very much looking forward to them playing since I have missed the previous two matches because of my trip to CR. And while Im disappointed there is no game today, it almost seems fitting that we haven’t played a game since our good friend @messymascot left us and the next Everton game is the one against New Castle when he will be remembered.

Have a beautiful Sunday everyone! Xx

Hi Sassy, tell your mum a big happy birthday from the gang when you see her I hope she has a great day.
If you and @barnfred join the attached video at 2:15 you will see a brilliant fairly recent performance from Gary Numan and his daughter which you can dance to next time you're both in the mood.

Sorry to hear that Fred, nice of your friend to thoughtfully delay the news and let you deal with yesterday, tragic nonetheless.
Oh so sorry Fred. Very sad to hear this. Sending hugs to you x

Terribly sad news Fred. My condolences mate.

Dear, Fred. How sad, I’m sorry to read that your friend passed away. My sincere condolences to you. Xx
Cheers guys. It was expected TBH. He was in an induced coma following his heart attack last week. I tried to speak to his wife on Christmas Eve but there was no answer. I guessed she was probably at the hospital. I think they allow 1 or 2 visitors when the end is close. I'll call her later.

Thanks, LT. She knows about the forum so I will make sure to give her your greetings. She will be 72 and it is my hope that she can last with us much longer.

I’m definitely going to check out this video and check out the performance of Numan and his daughter, I enjoyed listening to his music and watching his videos last night. Fred’s favorite Cars, is a song that I was acquainted with but many others I had not heard before.

Just had some very sad news. My very good friend who recently had the heart attack sadly passed away on Christmas eve . My mate didn't want to call me earlier and ruin my day yesterday.

Hopefully the funeral will coincide with my planned trip up to Liverpool next month.
Bloody hell mate, I’m sorry to hear it. Fingers crossed you get to be part of the send-off.

OMD are my favourite band ever. First saw them at Liverpool University Fresher's Ball maybe 1978/79. Best gig of theirs I ever went to was in Liverpool Museum 2014 or 2015- the new one on the waterfront ( Andy McCluskey is a Trustee of the museum). Only 500 tickets on each night. I splashed out on VIP tickets. OMD did a Q and A session for VIPs , also put on a free bar, mingled with the punters, and one of the original DJs from Eric's ( who was by then a very dapper pensioner) played a set . With records. It was so so good.
I like OMD but I thought Electricity was shocking.

One of my fave bands as well Anj, went to see them at the Empire just over 2 years ago before covid kicked in and they were better than ever.
My youngest lad is only 22 but he's right into his eighties music and had been pestering me to go to a gig, he absolutely loved it despite being about 40 years younger than everyone else.
My poor kids are brainwashed by 80s music. All those school runs in the car! However they have both independently come home from pre COVID pub quizzes and said "Hey Mum. There's was an 80s music round. Smashed it!"
They also have been to OMD gigs with me. I was at that gig at the Empire - was it the 40th anniversary one? I could have gone to Gateshead to see them on that tour but I love seeing them in Liverpool.

For anybody who hasn't seen OMD live, they are amazing. Well worth checking them out.

It was November 2 years ago Anj, we came down and watched Spurs on the Sunday before the gig.
Like you we could have seen them in Glasgow but even the band were blown away with the home crowd that night.
