Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

A long story cut short but we used to have a lot of parties and I built a bar in the cellar after many hours there was always one guy left at 7a.m. I said this is the last for me but why do you keep drinking when you can hardly see he said "It is free so I have to keep going ! But he left to go to sleep ,when I cleared up i went up to bed and he was in bed with my wife !!!! Fast asleep ,he was supposed to be in the next bedroom with his mate but his mate was spread all over the bed ,so he hopped in with the missus !
I tried to wake him but he was dead to the world ,I went downstairs to sleep on the sofa ,about 8 my wife came down to use the loo and I spoke to her ---the look on her face as she looked up the stairs and back at me thinking what ? who is in the bed then? Obviously she wasn't too pleased and made me drag him out of the bed ..
Oh my goodness! That's so funny. Your poor wife!

Morning all

we seem to be the only ones up at this ungodly hour.

Well it might be be mild but it's chucking it down here.

Anyone got any plans for the New Year? I've never really enjoyed it. When younger and going out everywhere was too busy and you couldn't get a cab home. I remember one in particular where we left town at 1am , tried to get a cab at the top of Bold St and ended up walking home to Huyton. Not sure how Mrs J managed that in heels!

I think we were scarred by that and then stayed local and gradually as we got older and moved further and further out of town just went out less.

So plans for the big night - chinese takeaway fairly early on , some vino with bubbles later and welcome in the New Year with Jools Holland.

Do you still follow the tradition of the darkest person bringing the New Year into the front door ? Since Mrs J is a redhead and I'm grey it will fall to Susie our black as coal withches cat. Amazing what she'll do for some Dreamies.

Have a lovely day everyone.

Morning folks, hope you're all enjoying the holidays. I'm not 100% so not really been online again, had a quick look but it's crazy how the head can just make everything feel like a chore. Trying to go do some visiting today, I've put it off since before xmas, I don't enjoy being around people even my own family but It has to be done.

Enjoy today everyone.

This is exactly what we will be doing! I can't be doing with New Year. Like you never really enjoyed it. Overhyped. Town was packed, the local.pubs were too. The parties I went to were always a bit dull. One memorable, for all the wrong reasons, involved Quality Street, ham sandwiches, close parental supervision and singing along to the Beach Boys greatest hits! I'm sure my mates and I only got invited so the host could prove to his Mum that he actually knew some girls!

We still do the first footing. It is usually me who goes out, Mr F and the daughter are ginger, son is blonde/brown so that leaves me. Our daughter might be celebrating with us. Her boyfriend has a 5 year old son from a previous relationship and he's up here with his Daddy over New Year so they are not going out. She's desperately searching for alternative entertainment!

Susie will be a awesome first footer!

I'm still off work until Friday so I might start on one of the books I got as prezzies.

Hope everyone has a fun day.

Sorry to hear this. Hope you improve as the day goes on. Get that gorgeous girl of yours out for a nice walk. Although it's really miserable here. Cold, damp and foggy. That wouldn't cheer anybody up.

We'll be heading out later, she's done really well with shorter walks while the weathers been crap. Going to my sisters to say hello as my nephew and his family are up.

I don’t like New Year much either. My late Mum would always first foot even into her late eighties she would walk round with my brother to ours (only a 10 minute walk) , stay to watch fireworks on the telly then walk home. When she became too frail she would always ring as the clock struck midnight. Now she is no longer here there is no reason to stay up so I just go to bed to be woken up by the industrial strength fireworks in the neighbourhood, Mr Gwladys still snoring like a stuffed pig.?
