I tried to make light of it anj but in all truthfulness we were appalling.

I have no idea what Benitez was trying to do.

The shape , tactics or lack of them was just bizarre. It was so easy for Brighton. We didn't even throw in any challenges.

I just hope that there really are 3 worse teams tha us.

Honestly , I'm not so sure.

Norwich are rubbish so are Watford ( who comprehensively slaughtered us) After that I'm not so sure. You can bet your life that we will gift Newcastle 3 points because we always do. The Everton future is not looking good.

I knew it was going to end badly when ,just as I started walking up the ramp at Kirkdale the heavens opened and by the time I'd got to the Melrose Abbey I was soaked.

I ignored the temptation of visiting this fine establishment ( I am after all going dry for January, well at least until.i get to the Caribbean, that is if I make it) . Anyway I digress.

Reached the old lady and after meeting chums took my seat to witness Everton paying tribute to Messy and all other Evertonians that have passed this year. Well , surprise surprise they messed that up as well.

So on to the game. Brighton's Potter set out to weave a magic spell to ensnare the Blues but really it wasn't necessary as Benitez hit the self destruct button inexplicably playing Kenny at RWB despite the fact that he gets nosebleed when he crosses the half way line and even worse Coleman at LWB despite having a French international whose natural position that is on the bench.
On to top the lot he played 2 in midfield and abracadabra we were completely overrun.

Brighton went 2 nil up and just like Prince Andrew didn't break sweat.

DCL blazed a penalty over apparently distracted by @anjelikaferrett in the Park End.

Half time came and went without Snr Benitez bothering to alter anything.

Potters lot continued to boss the 2nd half until.Gordon hit a speculative shot that was deflected in. The crowd were up , the force was with the blues , surely the manager would change to a back 4 and get another midfielder on.....err no.

Brighton scored a deserved third before Gordon got his 2nd this one a far better goal.afrer some lovely build up.

The crowd were desperate for some Benitez magic and hold on ....its Rondon. Well if you can't have magic then comedy will do right.

And the game fizzled out. The crowd booed and chants of Benitez out were heard.

Wild rumours swept the ground. Had Benitez been sacked? He was seen with a face like thunder. No actually it seems that the new signing Vitaly had been found tucking into Snr Benitez KFC and had been threatened with the transfer list.

Very entertaining report, Jazzy! Thanks for sharing your experience but it seems your return to Goodison wasn’t a very enjoyable one. Is specially upsetting that after having weeks to prepare the tribute for Karl, and other Evertonians that lost their lives, that the Club couldn’t get that right today. It's also upsetting Benitez' persistence to hold grudges against players such as Digne, who have the talent to improve the team and instead are left on the bench. But it doesn’t seem this loses are deterring Moshiri from his Benitez project so we will see what happens the next few weeks.

I hope Mrs. J ear ache has improved with the meds and she is feeling better.

Thanks Sassy . No improvement on the ear front unfortunately. Both very painful and deaf in one ear.

Which neatly brings me to Snr Benitez. This clown will take us down if he remains in charge. This season possibly but if not definately next.

And to compound matters we just let him spend $30 million on 2 full backs. They may be decent , genuinely I have no idea , but hell of a gamble.

I am also extremely dissappointed with Everton for their memorial. In previous seasons it has been held 10 minutes before kick off. This year it was literally 3 minutes before kick off with the result that it was rushed.

Let’s just say the conversation developed after a discussion about a sage cleansing, the possibility of Everton having a curse and the suggestion we could use some pins on a voodoo doll like this one and pretend it was Benitez, from there we got a bit off course lol

No improvement sounds miserable, I’m sorry to hear Mrs. J still is having to encounter such pain. Does she still have her appointment for Tuesday?

It makes no sense for Moshiri to play with fire like that just before moving to the new stadium.

The tribute did feel rushed even watching from far away, and it is super annoying that instead of the memorial being the main focus during those couple of minutes, the TV cameras are focusing more on the players and the supporters at the stadium.
