Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Well, Good morning everyone on the this grey and overcast bank holiday.

What's it like in the North East @Gwladysover and @anjelikaferrett ?

Everything ok with you down in the South West @Barnfred 55 - assuming that you haven't been banned yet lol .

And on my imaginary tour of GB and Ireland - all well with you up there @larbert toffee and over there @Armaghtoffee ?

Well another day of madness yesterday. Benitez continues to lose the plot at Goodison whilst Sassy and Fred get red cards from the GOT man . Fortunately VAR intervened and reduced the red to yellow. Good job, otherwise I would have had to find and dust off my practising certificate .

So , I hope that everyone is well . My imagination must be working overtime , yesterday I was on the point of asking a stranger by County Road if he was @Terrarian , simply because he was walking a beagle. I don't get out much nowadays !

Enjoy your day guys.
Morning Jazzy and the rest of the Mescoteers.

Nice bright chilly morning here with rain coming in unfortunately. I am being super brave about it though, currently enjoying a pot of tea while pondering what to do with myself today.

Busy day tomorrow so might just use that excuse and have a reading day ?

Just taken a lateral flow test after surviving the covid fertile atmosphere that is Goodison.

They superficially check your covid cert which is good but then everyone is cheek by jowl in the concourses and no one and i mean no one is wearing a face covering.

Anyway the test was negative so I can safely go and check on my mum and then go to the gym.

Enjoy your read.

That is a concern of mine definitely re the concourses as they are always rammed at Goodison. That and the manager mean it’s unlikely I will get over this season which is a shame as I love the city break element as well.

Good you have got the all clear, a great way to start your year.

First of all, most importantly @jazzy and @Methuselah all the best to your good ladies with their appointments.
It's the morning after the game before so to speak and it doesn't feel good, with the money we've spent and the position we're in it feels like a fur coat and no knickers situation, it would have been so good to start the new year with a win but it wasn't to be.

Good morning all, thanks for asking Jazzy, I'm good this morning.
It was stormy last night but has calmed down to a dark, dank morning.
Had a nice day in the house with my mate and his missus and was visited by my eldest daughter and her 2 girls later, the 2 year old keeping us entertained, she's quite a little character.
I'm taking an LFT shortly then all being well travelling back to Merseyside as last week to look after my parents.
Hope you have some good news later mate, I'll be thinking of you both on my journey down.

No I'm sill here mate.

I checked on my profile last night and I was only given 2 lots of warning points, not 4, and each was only 5 points which is lower than it should have been for off topic. So the mods were lenient on me and the Justice for the Messy two campaign can be considered a success. Thank you for your representation kind Sir, I'll keep your number in case I ever need it again. Not sure Sassy will have the same opinion given your unceremonious dumping of her lol

If there is something to be learnt from my escapades yesterday it is this.Try not to frequent the Everton forum too often, but if I do then steer well away from conversations with Sassy. ;)

Hope Mrs J's ear infection improves mate. It usually takes a day or so for the medication to kick in.

Have a great day everyone. I'm going for a shower now and then a walk up to see Cal's old work mate and pick up a pasty for my lunch on the way back.

Morning all. An Everton free day. Until tomorrow. I can't get over yesterday. I hate the atmosphere at Goodison at the moment. It has to go deeper than the players or the manager because nothing has changed since Martinez left. Moshiri appears to be clueless and if Usmanov is actually funding us then he has got no idea either.

It's raining at the moment. No plans for today. Might start to read a book I bought a few weeks ago - Dave Grohl's autobiography. Hope it doesn't disappoint me as much as Bruce Springsteen's did. That was possibly the dullest thing I've ever read.

Have a good day all. Hope Mrs J feels better @jazzy and also hope Mrs M is improving @Methuselah
Try Nelson Mandela's ,I could not get my head around it at all. Too many African names that were so hard to remember.

Thanks Fred. Have a great day mate

The only bright spot today was Anthony Gordon . The lad never stopped trying
I think Gordon along with Gray have been the brighter aspects of this season. It is specially nice that the young lad is finally getting a regular chance to play.

Yes the Dr appointment for Tuesday is still maintained and needed
Good, I hope the Dr. can finally prescribe something to end to her ear issues.

Ange, how unfortunate that Bruce Springsteen's autobiography was a disappointment. Hopefully Dave Grohl's is much better, enjoy your reading.

Gwladysover, Mrs M is about the same but hoping that hospital appointment tomorrow sorts things out. The firm I used to work for had a depot in Spalding and I worked there for several years in the 1970's, so got to know the area, including Peterborough, quite well.
Best wishes for Mrs. M too, I’m sure it must be worrying for you not to have your other half feeling well, so hopefully she also get the right treatment at the hospital ??

Morning guys. Well that was grim yesterday wasn't it.

Have a good day everyone.
You have a good day too, mate. X

Good morning all on this fine day . @jazzy so sorry your dearest is still suffering ,wish her the best for the morrow and tell her the worst that can happen is she will never hear you moan again.
Thanks for the report and I agree it was sad for Karl to be reduced to just his name and the screen ,it matters not a jot as we in here will revere him regardless.
The boys yet again showed the unerring ability to make nothing from some great ingredients , I am sure Vitaliy cannot wait !
You can all blame me because I was trying to assimilate he strategy and that was a terrible mistake ,the man is playing a game with our club.
What the he'll is Ferguson doing ? Yes ,I would like a shake up but not at the cost of going down ,
We have a history of slack management Bingham lost the confidence of the players ,if I remember correctly he had promised a new roof on Darracot's house and didn't fulfil the promise .
In the eighties there was a real hard drinking problem at the club .Didn't Gary Speed leave for some reason similar .
We have been walked on for time immemorial ,it seems it is to the core of the club.
And didn't we sign a coccaine addict ?
Anyway I saluted Karl despite them yesterday ,Stay safe and well.
I agree @blue1948 While it is unfortunate that Karl remembrance at Goodison wasn’t as significant as we would have wished. He still is revere and remembered fondly by many of us here and on Friday, the day of his funeral, we will salute him and honour his memory once more.

Morning all, another fine day and another fine mess Everton. Laurel and Hardy joke there for the oldies amongst us. I‘m not optimistic about our chances of staying up but then again I can never be accused of looking on the bright side, I’m a glass is nearly empty kind of personlol. My home town club is in the Championship, so if the worst happened it would be good to see us play each other. Trouble is Posh are in the relegation zone! Hope Mrs M @Methuselah and Mrs J @jazzy get on well at the docs tomorrow. Have a good day all.
Glad to hear is another fine day for you and that you got to see your grandkids this weekend.

Here still is dark but it is very chilly and it is going to continue as our highest temperature later today is only going to be 1°C and it is going to get to -7°C later tonight ? too cold for my liking. Enjoy your reading too, make the most of your last day off before beginning a busy week.

Hahaha, sure now blame it on me, Fred. You were the one who started the conversation, I just added a humorous spin to it given how grim the E forum was already getting. But guess from now on I just leave such remarks for this thread so we don’t get in trouble. After all, you seem to have found a retired lawyer to represent you but I haven’t gotten such a luck ☹️

Good morning, mascoteers!

I hope everyone’s day is going well. I went to sleep before 9 pm last night with the desire to wake up early to make it to the gym and begin again my morning routine but it is snowing outside, after days of warm weather winter decided to show up today. So no school or work for my daughter or me today. However, I have a busy day ahead of me. When I was traveling in CR my supervisor contacted about a job opening that she thought I should pursue. It is a full time advising position but with a different department that will be mostly working with high school students wanting to enroll at my college. Since she notified me I’ve been ambivalent about applying because it would change our plans to go on our road trip throughout Europe this summer. But after many years of being a full time mom, I had also decided that after coming back from our European trip that I would be ready to pursue a FT job and resume my career goals at my college. However, this job option is coming my way several months early than I wanted to and I been having a hard time knowing what to do. I really was looking forward to our trip for many reasons, I wanted us to visit my brother in Belgium, I also wanted to visit some friends in Spain and then meet some of you in the U.K. along with going to an Everton game at Goodison. Moreover, I thought it would be the perfect time for our daughter to have such cultural experience before she begins middle school. But not applying for this position would be silly of my part as it is an amazing career opportunity for me to assist the high school Latino population that wants to enroll in College. Moreover, the pay and benefits is more than I have ever made working in public education and it will allow husband and I to save money for retirement and for our daughter’s college tuition. But then I will have to postpone our trip and working full time will change our family lives as for the past decade I have been the one fully in charged of our household tasks while the hubby works long hours during the week. So I’m confused and trying to decide what to do but the application deadline is Thursday. Thus today I’m going to be pondering my options and begin the application just in case I decide to pursue this opportunity. Anyway, I wanted to share this with you in case I’m absent the next few days then you know it’s because I’m having to concentrate on this task.

Cheers! Xx

Go for it Sassy, you may not get another opportunity, don't look a gift horse in the mouth as they say. I have no clue why they say that though lol lol

Thanks for the advise, Terrain. I probably will, it is not for sure that I will get the job anyway but no trying for it will not be very wise of me either.

What a say, now I’m very curious about how that say started.

If you don't get it at least you went for it, if you don't you may look back and regret it. It sounds like you are keen so I say go and give it a try.

By the look of it, I got look a gift horse in the mouth wrong and out of context ffs lol
