Thanks everyone for the feedback and advise. I really appreciate and value your opinions!
The hiring process at my college can be quite cumbersome. In addition to completing several pages of questions answering all sorts of things, one must also submit a CV, cover letter, university transcripts, reference letters. Then if one is fortunate enough to be invited to an interview then there is a long interview to answer questions from a six-eight-member committee. Once one makes it to the final round there are two more interviews and if they settled on hiring you there is a background and references check before the job is finally offered. I know it because I have gone through it before and it is a very stressful process, at least for me, and it can be especially disheartening if you don't get the job after going through such lengthy experience. I didn't mention on my previous post that this job became available last year, and I applied for it, but the committee decided to hire another Latina woman that had just moved to Asheville and impressed them more than me, but less than a year into the job she has already left it for a position at a local university. Before I left for CR I had noticed the job was available but wasn't contemplating applying for it until my supervisor urged me to consider it. After much pondering and consultation with the hubby, I have decided to apply for the job but I'm having a hard time finding the right words for the cover letter since I have already submitted one for the same job before. I am finding myself out of words on how to best express that this time around I'm the right person for the job. So, until I get my inspiration I have decided to stop by for a quick greeting. One aspect that I love about our chats is how much fun I have and how many giggles I enjoy while reading all of your post, it really brightens my day. If I get the job, I'm probably going to be much busier than now, and it may limit my time here at GOT and that's an aspect about it that I wouldn’t be very happy about![]()
Best of luck Sass, they'd be mad not to give you the role.
