Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Sometimes I wish there was a ? or ? reaction emoji that one could respond to post because you all deserve one instead of just a "like"

Thanks again everyone for all the encouragement and sweet compliments. I'm very flattered and moved by your expressions of praise. I hope I can convey to the committee that I'm the right candidate for the job because I know I can make a great impact in the recruitment and advising of a more diverse community at the college, if they only give me the chance. But if it doesn't happen then it wasn't meant to be and I will continue planning our trip to Europe instead. I will let fate lead my way :)

Good night, friends. xx
Just show them your whipping gear photos Sass. You'll be fine. ;)

Good morning all, busy day ahead, two lots of visiting nurses today at unspecified times, shopping to do, pharmacies to visit, must get my mum out today, the lift has been down for the last couple of weeks so she's been somewhat of a prisoner in her own home.
Who said this retirement lark is easy?
My dad is a lot better this week after his fall, he's still badly bruised but pottering about a bit better.
I will try to get them out for a meal tomorrow that will give give them a boost.
Have a good day everyone the first normal day after the Christmas break, should be fun?
Got.my tickets yesterday for the Villa game, there's 5 of us coming down including one of my grandson's, we're going to keep it a big surprise until the last minute, he will be beyond excitement when he realises.
Let's hope we can put on a performance for him. It would be doubly pleasing seeing you know who is their manager. ;)

Morning everyone.

Fully back into my fitness and training regime now.

Good hours weight training ( only light weights , being muscle bound is bad for ping pong) and got a great sweat up last night playing for an hour.

OK so big day for doggie today. 2nd x Ray and then we get a far greater insight into his problem.

Mrs J still suffering from her ear infection , it smells terrible , so hopefully a consultation with the GP will help.

Doesn't look like there are going to be any further restrictions so subject to nothing castrophic with the dog the holiday to the Caribbean looks on.

If I'm being honest I'd rather not go as the thought of testing positive over there and not being able to come home fills me with dread but unless P &O cancel we would have to lose a lot of money not to go.

Looks like Benitez gets to sign another full back but interestingly both appears to have been targeted by Brands so really not sure what's going on.

@larbert toffee hope everything is OK with mum and dad , tough time for you mate.

weather forecast for today is lovely so I hope everyone has a great time.
Fingers still crossed for the dog Jazzy. Do you find out straight away or will it take time to study the x-rays.?

@jazzy. Hope it's a good prognosis for the dog. Fingers crossed
@larwhat a great surprise for your grandson. I was thinking of going to that one when I saw that there were general tickets on sale. I'll ask my son if he fancies it. You're right about Z Cars I still get goosebumps when I hear it at Goodison. My first match was also a loss. 1975 v Fulham FA Cup.

Hi Everyone ,

I'm just about to compose a much longer post but firstly to those ( @anjelikaferrett , @Barnfred 55 , @blue1948 and @Terrarian - desperately hope I have missed anyone ) kindly asking about my dog Blue and Mrs J ( I'm really sorry I can't do the multi quote thingy that Zat and latterly @Sassy Colombian specialise in .... it's wonderful news.

The lovely vet lady Hilary says that the lesion that she saw on the original X ray and which she thought was an aggressive bone cancer has not changed shape at all in the X rays done today and she concludes that the lesion almost certainly/ definately can't be bone cancer. The little fella is still hobbling a bit but she concludes that it must be arthritis ( which is shown on the X ray ) . He is 14 or 15 after all and the pain is controllable with meds.

Mrs J had a telephone consultation with the GP and he has prescribed some strong anti biotics which she is taking already. The course only lasts a week and she is reassured that she will be fine and able to travel.

So many , many thanks for your kind words and wishes.

That's brilliant news Jazzy. Got all emotional reading that. Lovely to get some good news for a change. Made up for you mate. Give the little fellah a big snuck from me.

Excellent news for the furry one. That must be such a relief for you. Now all you need is for Mrs J to recover!

Ok so, as all you lovely people know I came late to this beautiful thread.

I read Karl's original heart rendering post , a couple of posts from others and then skipped to the then last 3 pages . I was hooked , amazed by the honesty , fortitude and bravery of Messy and the incredible support shown to him and I've been here since.

However I promised myself that I would one day catch up with the whole thread and read every post and page that I had missed.

I started that today after I dropped the dog off at the vets and whilst I waited to hear the outcome.

So far I'm up to page 45. I've learned so much.

From @Earwigjoe going beyond the call to get Everton to arrange a special night at the Burnley game ( thank god it was one of the few that we won and he saw a very special goal ) to @Gwladysover falling in Peterborough and being badly injured ( hope you are fully recovered now ), and, @Barnfred 55 hating Everton playing 5 at the back ( as with everything he's right of course ).

And so much in between but always , always the amazing attitude of Karl to what he knew was coming and the incredible support that you gave him. The posts were sad and life affirming in equal measure. They genuinely brought tears to my eyes.

You really are wonderful people every one of you - the best of the best - even Foreverblue92 who wanted to buy Messy a pint even though Karl said he couldn't drink - despite the incessant nonsense that he posts about Benitez lol ( seriously only joking ).

No more novels for me until I've read the rest of what I missed.

I salute you all.

I was at that game Anj, I'm pretty sure Bobby Moore played in that game and it was Viv Busby who put us to the sword, same old, same old.
Right on both counts. We were expected to win easily and didn't. I'll never forget it though. My Dad took me and my two younger brothers. Top balcony. Just brilliant.
