It's really weird, but once you get the service behind you I've always found funerals to be almost joyous occasions. It's obviously different when it's a child who's died, but I've fortunately enough never had to attend one of those.

Thanks Fred. A good service and afterwards lots of laughter and fond memories of a lovely lady, who despite being only 4’ 11” was larger than life. Her favourite expletive being “Oh sh*t and pollution!”?. RIP Aunt Eva.

I think we're not taken by fresh water fish for some reason. Trout is probably the only one and tbh I'm not keen myself.

Thanks guys, back safely, didn't pass any accidents this week but snow and ice all around passing through the lake district to just short of Carlisle, loads of gritters out and they were doing a good job keeping the motorway clear.

Had to look it up but yes I do just about remember that!

I discreetly fed the Turkish Delight out of the selection boxes to my young niece and nephew. Well I tried to but they handed them back with tiny little bite marks in them.

They do appreciate it Jazzy, but as I keep telling them, they looked after me for long enough.
Working tomorrow and Saturday but look more on my job these days as more therapeutic and less of a chore.

Yep the South West and Cornwall in particular is so temperate that the plants are miles ahead of us up here in the frozen north.

Like you Fred I've lived in both areas. It's definately warmer down there but perhaps even wetter.

Much warmer on the west generally. The North East is much colder than the North West. Isn't it to do with the Gulf Stream? I've honestly driven across the Pennines and experienced fine weather in Lancashire and snow as soon as I've crossed into Yorkshire!
