Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Blue I absolutely love your insights into Finnish life so if you don't mind , a couple of banal questions...

1. I've been to Norway and was amazed how expensive everything but particularly eating out was. Is it the same in Finland ?

2. Do you get British TV or too far away for European satelitte ( We got it in Western France )

3. What is social life like in rural Finland ? Do you have pubs etc?

Really fascinating to get an insight into other countries
Good morning ,yes Finland is expensive I think .It is confusing because Iwas once told the the McDonalds hamburger is a sign of the cost of living ,here they are from about 3€ for an El Maco but when I look at lidl prices in the UK they are slightly higher .Eating out is something we haven't done in years but most people eat a real lunch which is a buffet ,eat all you want and that is about 10€ an evening meal the highest rated in our town is this :-Screenshot 2022-01-08 at 7.27.07.webp

Which brings me to the pubs ,as they are 10 miles away we don't go and alchohol is expensive here but the taxis are crazy high prices .to the airport from the last house was 15 miles and the fare one way was 50€ .
I get all tv I want as I have an app but it is possible to get the same satellite channels here on the west side of Finland. They do show a fair amount of UK series here that are subtitled in Finnish .We have started watching "The landscapers " last night .
So to sum it up we don't go anywhere but the shops and walking/fishing . Mostly it is due to covid but she won't let me pay 100€ for a meal with a bottle when we can have a better meal and a better wine at home for half the price.

Don't worry Blue. I'll keep it well stocked.

I wish I could say hello to my mum. I'm toasting her because she passed away 9 years ago today. She would be 100 if she were still with us.

She was totally loopy when she was 91 so God knows what she'd have been like now.
I did realise about your mum I just thought like me you have a word now and again.
