Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Couldn't we get a ferry from Latvia or somewhere?
Yes you can drive from a channel port to Tallinn in Estonia and there is a ferry across to Helsinki from there .
When people come to visit I suggest they stay in Talinn first night as the flights are very cheap from the UK .
Talinn is a bit more commercial than when I first went but the architecture is fantastic ,a bit like Helsinki ,they are to me very Eastern European in feel .
I know Fred has visited St Petersburg but the baltic is quite lovely -not tidal by the way -and the freshwater fish I mentioned the other day pike and perch are actually sea fish here .

hey all, just checking in, feeling a bit dodgy the old guts aren't playing nice. Will have a proper catch up later.
Good man. I was just about to do a shout out to you mate.

I think ( may be wrong about this ) that either @Barnfred 55 or @Armaghtoffee was asking about you yesterday.

Hope the pain is bearable and that adorable Daisy is giving you lots of love

Pains ok today, lingering remnants of that headache but nothing major, I think I over indulged in tasty treats when my shopping came lol, I'm a big kid.

I've been struck by how geographically diverse we are and wondered why people moved away and / or support Everton.

Fred we know is from Speke before he moved to Cornwall.

I'm from Plymouth but moved up to Huyton in 1982 after meeting the now Mrs J in Corfu. But bizarrely ( one of @Sassy Colombian strange coincidences ) Everton were always my team and as a 10 year old I remember having Everton pennants ( triangular things - remember those ?) and pictures of Alan Ball on my bedroom wall of parents house in Plymouth.

So what about everyone else - why did you move away or end up supporting Everton?

Cold and wet here.

Having a cup of tea in bed and catching up with the news and what I've missed on here.

Eventually caught up with everything on this thread. Didn't realise that @Gwladysover was a fellow veggie.

Sounds like @anjelikaferrett had a lovely evening , made up for you.

Sad day on the thread yesterday but thanks to @Reedy1979 for his posts.

Is it a forum record that we've gone more than 24 hours since we heard from @Sassy Colombian , hope you are OK , perhaps she's tied up lol.

Thanks to @blue1948
for his fascinating insights into life in rural Finland.

So , Hull away in the FA Cup on BBC so the whole nation can see how crap we are. Not looking forward to it to be honest.

Anyway I hope everyone has a good weekend.
Well done on reading through this thread, sure it was an eye opener at times, where else would you read about brown knickerslol. Have been a veggie for over 30 years, lots of good meat substitutes now, much better than when I first gave up meat, just wish they could come up with a decent pork pie.

I was already part of the madness when the brown knickers were knocking around lol

I was young and stupid lol no everyone was Man Utd and Liverpool and I didn't want to be so I clicked on to Everton early 80s, got a few good years out of them and the rest has been pretty dire hasn't it lol lol God was I a glory hunter, that back fired massively didn't it haha

Morning folks. Enjoy your Saturday until 5.30 when it all kicks off...on every level. I'm going to invoke all my religious artefacts to ensure a win. I've got Catholicism, Buddhism and Hinduism covered so far. One of them must like Everton!
I've got a soft spot for Hull. I used to be the Group Liason officer for the Land Registry Hull office so would help the branch reps with personal cases, meetings, recruitment etc. Had some cracking nights out in Hull. One night was in tne casino where for £20 you got a 3 course meal, a glass of wine and £5 to play in the casino.!

Hope everyone is having a good weekend so far. How did the table tennis go @jazzy? And how is Mrs J? @Terrarian are you OK? And also @Methuselah - how's things with you?

No plans today. Think Mum's taxi may be in business today getting the offspring and partners into Durham for a night out later. One thing I still miss from living in a city is decent public transport and the ability to flag down a taxi in tne middle of the road. Rural County Durham has the most awful public transport infrastructure.

I'm ok, I have sulfur burps though, a sure sign I have eaten too much, I actually feel like I've a hangover, bloody sugar.
