Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Cheers. Been very down myself for a few weeks. First Christmas since my Mum died. Dad and my brother both have anniversaries in December. Sometimes life whacks us but Spring is coming. The sun is shining and my dogs want to go for a walk!! Have to smile too! Stay safe mate.
Oh bless you. The promise of spring always lifts my mood.

How did yor birthday meal go Anj?. What did you have?
It was lovely. Had garlic mushrooms to start with. My go to starter. Always think I'll have something different, spend 10 minutes perusing the alternatives and then when the waiter comes I order garlic mushrooms! Then I had a chicken and tiger prawn pasta in a creamy sauce. Was too full for pud but had a couple of pints of the stout that the microbrewery do. If any of you are real ale fans check out Sonnet 43 beers. They are almost my next door neighbours.

Just tried phoning the Drs as I want to change my prescription, it's closed for staff training!! They haven't done bugger all for 2 years lol. I have been meaning to make this call for 2 months but as a master procrastinator it took until today and they're friggin shut ffs

I really have to phone tomorrow but tomorrow never comes does it lol
Try it online T .
I had a very easy experience yesterday to get a prescription.

I'm sorry to hear about your dental issues, Simon. Here in the US is absurd the amount of money that it cost to go to the dentist that many people forgo visiting but it is creating a lot of other health issues for Americans because of it. Even with health insurance it is very costly, so much that I get my basic work done here but if I ever need major work done is cheaper for me to go to Colombia and visit my dentist there. I hope you can find someone to take you as a patient soon. x
One of my friends went to Bulgaria to get a significant amount ofdental work done. Even including three lots of flights and hotels it was miles cheaper than paying for it in UK.

I do normally order it online Jazz but i wanted to see if I could change off tramadol to co-codamol because I can't afford the amount of paracetamol I need and at least co-cod has it in it even if it's not as strong for pain, I wanted a quick chat with the Dr to see if there was alternatives.

I used get my paracetamol prescribed but they stopped it and with me being out of work I can't afford to buy my own.

yes I do Fred , sorry to be so insensitive
No worries mate. As you know I do always try and be positive and the last thing I want is for people to feel as if they're treading on eggshells around me. So just carry on as normal.

In this particular instance though I just want to see how it goes.

I had a look at your cruise by the way. There's still places left. £1300 for an outside balcony cabin with flights paid for. You can't ask for more than that. I was almost tempted.

Sounds lovely Anj.

I like a pint, as you would probably have heard. In the summer I drink more cider and lager, but n the winter i tend to go for beers and, if I can get it, a good porter or stout. We're spoilt for choice for real ale down here. There are about 4 big breweries but also plenty of micro breweries too. My favourite is at a pub called The Blue Anchor in Helston, not too far from me. They brew Spingo ales there (google it) and have done for over 600 years making it the oldest brewery and one of the oldest pubs in Cornwall. The special is my favourite, a porter type dark ale that's 6.6% of loveliness. ;)

Just had a Google. Wasting taxpayers money instead of working! That sounds lovely and right up my street.

Me too Anj. I'm 61 next month. If I still lived in Liverpool I'd have a bus pass FFS. lol

I was very miffed to discover that Durham Council only give you bus passes when you reach state pension age. Was looking forward to a few trips out last year. I'll have to wait until I'm 66! I love public transport for all the wrong reasons. I love earwigging all the conversations and listening to the bus stop gossip. Travelling to King's X from Durham for union meetings was always fun in that respect.
I'll be thinking about you on Saturday. These "firsts" must be so hard for you From your fond reminisces of her, Cal sounds like a fabulous person and someone I could have easily been friends with.

That's a strange thing about Liverpool. We are in West Lancs and like you Fred I'm 61 but no bus pass.

I'm not aware of any other area where you qualify for a bus or rail pass at 60.

I turned 60 last month and now have my 60+ travel card, which gives me free travel on buses and trains.

My first journey on the bus I was grinning like a Cheshire cat, but no one could see because I was wearing a face mask.

I'm in my 60s FFS. Where did all those years go? My brain still thinks I'm a youngster. What's that saying? Women rarely admit their age, men rarely act it.

Well excuse me! Armagh are away to Dublin first game and hopefully they only get their act together after we get something out of the match. Staying in Dublin that night and looking forward to making a bit of a day out of it.

Dublin hurling seems to have " to me after the surge of a couple of years. Ain’t nobody touching that Limerick team for a while yet though.

Great win for Cavan over Tyrone on Tuesday- that pleased me greatly ?

Love that word " plateaued" don't remember seeing it in print .

A woman is as old as she looks and a man is old when he stops looking .
