Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Got to be mash, i haven't had mash for ages, just bought myself a masher last week, just need some potatoes now lol
Frozen mash is surprisingly OK. My daughter loves mash - prefers it to roasties on a Sunday dinner. I always have a back up bag of frozen mash in the freezer. Just bung it in the microwave and give it a mix every now and again.

Hope you are getting slowly to grips with it as well mate.

Went for a very long walk yesterday with a good mate. An often postponed one cos of weather, and we nattered and nattered, about all sorts. IE, not just Nik.

We bumped into a mate of his, and he introduced me as "My good mate Roydo" Not, "My good mate Roydo who has recently lost his partner", so we had a thoroughly normal natter, (football, rugby, golf, traffic).

Which was just fantastic. You know, or you will soon mate.
I know now mate. I don't see that many people but I speak a lot on the phone and 95% of stuff is about everyday things, and maybe 5% about Cal.

I'm flying upto Liverpool tomorrow. It would have been Cal's birthday on Saturday and we're burying her ashes. Another box ticked. Just taking it step by step mate, it's all you can do.

I'm up there for a week though and the whole week is planned out visiting friends and family. I'm really looking forward to it. Just hope I don't catch covid.

Hope you enjoyed your chicken casserole. ;)

I used to love the adverts for the mash potato. Was it Smash? The ones with the little robots falling about laughing "They peel them with their metal knives .hahahaha" lol

I don't think I ever tried it. My mum always made the proper stuff. I just liked the adverts.
My Mum wouldn't entertain it either but I went youth hostelling in the Lakes with some mates when I was 16. We bought some, along with about 600 packets of Batchelors Savoury rice and lived off that and hot dog sausages for 10 days! It really wasn't nice!
