The disappointed Evertonian inside me is expecting another underwhelming appointment like Koeman or Benitez. Step forward Nuno Espirito Sanchez. Yeah Wayne's doing a great job at Derby and I wouldn't be unhappy if he came. But he's also somebody who splits opinions and I think we may still be a polarised fan base if he came and it's time to come together.

I also know what you mean about Lampard. As a player he had an arrogance about him. But he didn't get on with Gerrard and that's good enough for me. The enemy of my enemy is my friend and all that ?

Seriously I liked what Lampard did in his first season. He gave their young players an opportunity and Tuchel is now benefitting from that. Second season the board brought in about 8 new faces and I thought Lampard struggled to find the right balance.

I think Everton need to invest in young players going forward and we need a manager who has the balls to play them. Gordon's been arguably our best player since injuries forced his hand.
