Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

You must be made up BTS. Proper food again. lol

Good to hear though. If she were anything like my Missus she'd be climbing walls by now.
Thanks Fred. She is climbing the walls a bit, but looking forward to her freedom.

I'm a pretty good cook, if I say so myself, although my mum always said self praise is no recommendation.
lol

Just need to do a major tidy up, as I've been a bit lax without the tidy police on patrol.

See quite a few are kicking off in the other forum about Wayne Rooney not wanting to be interviewed for the Everton job. I mean, none of those kicking off actually wanted him as next manager in the first place.

I actually think he's shown very astute awareness of his own situation in removing himself from the bum fight. The Everton job could become a poisoned chalice for him if things went wrong, and his fledgling managerial career could be finished before it's even started. I also think he's showing great loyalty to Derby who are in an absolutely desperate situation. He's gone up quite a bit in my estimations today.

I need a recommendation for something new to try when I get my shopping.

I've had the Fry's creams(only original though as a certain @Armaghtoffee kept the orange ones a secret lol ) and had garibaldi for first time in years, so does anyone have any ideas.

You can't buy spangles anymore though, probably a good thing lol
How about Terry's chocolate orange?

Are we talking retro sweets and cakes here? I'll have a think.

Absolutely nothing wrong with praising your own cooking BTS. I do it all the time. Even to myself as I'm eating it.

Last night I made myself some satay chicken kebabs. All I did was marinate some chicken in a satay sauce out of a jar for a couple of hours, stick it on some metal skewers, and put under a grill. I had it with some microwaved pilau rice and some humus and flat bread. I was sitting there eating it and smiling like a Cheshire cat at my culinary perfection when I might as well have put some chicken ding in the microwave. lol

As I said I'm doing a Thai red curry tonight, but again I'll be using a pre-made Thai red curry paste. I do add a few things like Kafir lime leaves, lemon grass, palm sugar, Thai fish sauce, lime juice, and hot fresh red chillies to it (and my secret ingredient, a splash of soy sauce) but it isn't proper cooking like when I cook a curry or chilly from scratch. I put more effort into making an omelette. lol

I have the Thai curry with Thai jasmine rice that I barely wash before cooking so it stays nice and sticky. I put this in a soup bowl and pour over the curry so the rice soaks up all the juices. I normally eat it with a spoon. It's absolutely delicious. There I go again. Nothing like blowing your own trumpet eh BTS.?

Anyway, I'm off to make myself a nice G&T now. You'd probably think I was already on it after reading that. ;)

Sorry T. I'm avoiding sweet things at the moment.

I wanted him. However his loyalty to Derby has also made me like him even more. Let's face it, his current role is like being deckchair attendant on the Titanic. He's not a bad lad. Just needs to stay away from the ladies!
