Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Amazing people to be honest Fred, MIL is 60 and FIL is 66, fostered all their lives and gave everyone they could a chance in life, no conditions attached. Three of the "foster" kids are still there now, two well into their 20s and one 19, its home for everyone with kids of foster kids coming for overnight visits etc. FIL worked for 47 years at the same job before retiring 5 1/2 days a week, every week, i only found out the week before he retired that the 1/2 day Saturday morning was overtime which he just always did as part of the routine. He was diagnosed with very early Prostate Cancer about a year ago but thankfully it was just a matter of wiping the prostate out and that was that, no need for further treatment. I agree completely with you, its their time now and they did head for Spain for 3 weeks before Christmas when my FIL retired, so hopefully once they get over this bump they can get back to what they had planned. Talks of buying a place in Portugal were getting stronger recently so we will see what happens.
Told her yesterday she could go home today once the last test was clear, but unfortunately it turns out that at 60 she has dementia, i have no idea of stage etc but it has to be early but [Poor language removed] me life is really [Poor language removed] at times

Afternoon everyone , well good evening over there.

So in St Lucia today. First time we've noticed any real government restrictions. Temperature tested off the ship and can only go on a government tour or to an approved beach. No problem for us but in a beach bar now with locals ( great fun ) so how does that work ?

Anyway 1st time I've posted since our new overlord Frank was appointed so thought I'd have my tuppence worth.

Not my 1st choice but defo someone I can get behind. Hopefully we will see front foot pressing football with loads of energy and proper defensive organisation. Pleased that Clement has joined him , excellent no2.

Lampard has clearly identified that we have no legs in midfield so brings in Alli and VDB. No idea what everyone thinks but I like both additions. I like the structure of the deal for Alli and if Frank can get him back to Poch form he is a great signing.

Hate the position that we are in but hopeful that the future will be brighter.

Take care everyone.

I'm so sorry to hear that. Life really does suck at times. Sending hugs x

I remember speaking to my Nan about the blitz. She lived at the top end of Canning Street/Upper Duke, and sat on the steps and watched the docks burn.

In terms of the soldiers returning post-conflict, how it impacts people varies. Non-service people perhaps don't understand there's lots of good from it.

However, understandably, there's also a lot of negative and this is what people see and this isn't only PTSD; you acclimatise to a new way of life and thinking.
I suppose once you've experienced war it could make you incredibly resilient, and much more able to cope with any crises that life may throw at you. It could make you appreciate the simple things in life, as well everything you have, such as family and friends. Also, what's important and what's not. Things which caused stress beforehand could become trivial and no longer a problem afterwards. Is that the kind of thing you meant when you said there can be good from it?

My earlier post may have given the impression that my Grandad suffered with PTSD, but I don't really know if he did or not. I was just saying that it must have been a traumatic experience for a teenager. From my memories of my Grandad, he seemed absolutely fine, but he came from a generation where men didn't talk about their feelings, so it's possible he internalised it. Maybe he had suffered as a young man, but found a way to deal with it.

Sorry to hear that mate. If you've not noticed the symptoms before now then it's been caught really early, and they have medication that slows down the process a d the earlier it's caught the better. So fingers crossed she's strong enough to put the effects back a few years.

Sometimes life isn't fair mate.it really isn't

If you're at Rodney Bay there's a restaurant run by an English couple. He's a RS.?

Oh mate, I'm so sorry to hear that. Your mother-in-law helped so many kids through her fostering. She didn't deserve that. Life's just not fair sometimes.

Sorry to hear that mate. Hope you can stay strong in the face of adversity.

You’re looking awesome Ma’am
Awe, thanks darling.

Good luck. Smash it!
I tried to give it my biggest smash, Ange. Hopefully enough to get the position.

Saw the Doc today to review my 'fluid on the lung'. He was pleased with progress - keep taking the tablets, and calculated that I had got rid of two and a half litres of fluid. I do feel a lot better and am sleeping better which makes a big difference. Can't handle losing sleep.
Her indoors is supposed to go into hospital today. We are waiting patiently to hear if there is a bed available.

Best of luck Sassy with your interview. Knock them cold!

Hope everyone is well.
That’s very good news that already the tablets are doing their job and your condition has improved. I hope Mrs. M gets her treatment at the hospital and can return home too.

Thanks for the good wishes, I sure hope I know them frozen ?

Best of luck Sassy. Just be yourself and you'll bowl them over. X
Hahaha, I have never heard of bowl them over but I sure hope did.

Good luck sassy, fingers crossed for you
Thanks, Terrarian! Xx

Best of luck, Sas, not that you’ll need it.??
I actually do need it and I hope all the good wishes and good energy everyone has sent. Thanks for it ?

Best of luck Sass.
Thanks, Fred!

I am sorry that your family received this news, sometimes life can be cruel to those who deserve it the least. We have a family member who is 70 and she is in the early stages of dementia and tbh it is hard seeing such deterioration of her mind. Stay strong.

St. Lucia sounds warm ? I hope the holiday is going great, Jazzy. Look forward to hear more about it.

At last can get out after the bout of Covid, feeling a lot better
Even got to take our Nora out, my mate said that’s animal abuse putting that coat on her
Oh my, that’s an adorable outfit. Now if my new cat would only let me dress her up.

Good evening, friends. Finally got home after a long day. But I’m very satisfied with my interview performance, I thought I did well and hopefully the committee feels the same way. But I was told it could be up to four weeks before I know if their decision though ? Whatever it is meant to be it will happen. Im just happy that I went for it, don’t want to have regrets in the future for not giving it a try.

Now I’m getting ready to watch another Colombian WC qualifying match against Argentina. Unless we win this match, then we probably will not have a spot so Colombia needs to give it all today.

I still can’t believe Díaz signed for Liverpool. I hope we don’t regret not offering him a few more millions to make him ours.

Diaz will replace Mane, who they will sell for loads of money.

Diaz then dosent miss a game for 5 years and scores in every Derby.

That’s how it always is !

Hope the interview comes off for you mate.
