Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Yeah I've got palliative nurse coming at 10am to make sure my pain plan is still working OK. Then in the afternoon I am going for an ultrasound to see if it is clots in my legs that is causing them to swell.

Either of you up to much?

Reassuring to know the good old NHS are doing all they can to keep you comfortable. I've met so many lovely nurses in my time. They really do restore your faith in human nature.

Hope you have a good day.

Morning everyone didn't sleep the best last night but got some so can't complain too much.

@Barnfred 55 I echo the sentiments of those above we are all with you.
Morning mate. Sorry you didn't sleep too well. Fortunately mine wasn't too bad.

Staying in my best mates last night and today so don't have the luxury of en suite facilities I've enjoyed for the last few days. Bit of a queue for the bathroom this morning so I have a few unexpected moments to post in here. There are also a couple of cats here trying to work out whether they like me or not.

Thanks to everyone for all the kind posts. Not sure how I'm feeling tbh but I read the full service a couple of days ago so I know it's a celebration of her life focusing on all the good times we shared.
Pretty certain there will be a lot of laughter today mixed in with a few tears. Cal liked her socialising so it's what she'd want.

Hope to catch up later guys and hope you have a better day Messy.

I got myself a bit confused but both my consultant and GP told me I has misinterpreted.

I thought because I had a DNR that they would no longer try and deal with any problems. They both said the only thing that has changed is if my heart stops they won't try and restart it. My consultant is really good at explaining things. Whenever I've been seen by another Dr he always explains things in a way that I can understand if I ask a question about it. The people in the NHS are great. The way it is run is not.

Just heading to the gym , few bits this morning and then it’s Friday so I’ll be out for lunch and posting incoherently on here by about 7.30 ish .

sounds like a fairly challenging day , hopefully any issues with your pain management can be addressed , is that going ok ?
Where do you go for lunch mate. I'd take a guess on somewhere like Rigbys or around that area

To be honest mate it totally depends on the company , so Fridays can tend to be the slightly posher lads but some great pubs around dale st that’s for sure .

As it happens despite the above ^ today I’ll be around that vicinity today as I’m with some lads I normally go the match with .

Thank you my friend.

I went to see her earlier. It was very emotional. She was wearing the cocktail dress she had on the night before she passed away and, considering that was 4 weeks ago, she looked stunning. The guys at the Funeral directors had done a terrific job.

Her brother and I had a final drink with her. Mount Gay Black Label. Her favourite tipple.
I hope everything goes well today buddy. We'll all be thinking of you.God Bless.

My power nap time can happen any time any place. I think what doesn't help is my day no longer has routine in it.
I think we are all creatures of habit who need routine and structure to our days. Once we go off on leave, so common that you forget what day it even is because you aren’t tied to a desk or till.

Do you read much Messy? Just thinking that a wee bit of time set aside each day to read something new might sort of timetable you a bit more so to speak.

Podcasts even? Something on a topic totally new to you each day might both grab your attention and bring some routine.
