Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Another person that I meant to send a greeting this morning was to my good mate @Spadge Vernacular I hope your week is going well too. Xxx

Btw, every time I see your profile pic it makes me laugh ?
Yo Sass! How's things with you my dear?

The profile pic pay homage to the great Blackadder and our glorious leader. Have you watched Blackadder?

Things are going very well this week, thanks for asking. I signed my papers for my new job on Monday and yesterday I stopped by the office to drop off a thank you card and gift for my new supervisor and today she sent me this sweet email. I really like her statement about endless positive possibilities :)

I have not watched Blackadder so you are going have to explain to me why such homage towards Moshiri?

Thanks Sass appreciate.

Hi everyone hope you're all well today. I'm not doing much it's that time again spasm city and headaches, sick of them and I will be honest, the thought of getting old with this condition is not a pleasant thought, hard enough dealing with it now.

Take care all speak soon.
Rubbish that you have the spasm and headaches again hope your pain has eased and Daisy has been giving you cuddles.

Hi Sassy, I'm positive in my outlook but unfortunately still testing positive now joined by Mrs LT on that front so we're consoling each other at the moment and concentrating on getting better, slight improvement again so we're moving in the right direction and refound my voice.
Sorry to hear Mrs LT is now testing positive but glad to hear you are moving in the right direction, hopefully the thought of the lovely holiday to come is cheering you both up.

Now that's impressive. I only wish I could speak as many languages but I have no such a talent :(

Tom lol

I absolutely love when the days begin getting longer. One of my favorite things about the seasons is those changes to day light hours. Because Colombia is near the equator, it has no seasons so sunrise and sunset occur at the same time throughout the year. I was amazed my first summer in the US and being 9 pm and still having day light.

They are indeed. When I first became pregnant I wanted a girl so bad and I got her, but I never realized she was going to challenge my patience the way she does. I love her dearly but my Sofia is also very different than me. Her personality traits are more similar to those of my younger brother or my younger sister. My sis is always joking that God sent me the wrong child, it sent me hers ?

As you shall be, well at least for now ;)

I'm sorry to hear about you pulling a muscle. Those can be painful, may you recover soon ?

I think you are right about this statement! And I look forward to the day my daughter makes it up to me lol

Sofia is the opposite of me too. Charlotte actually sounds more similar to me, I'm very organize and tidy too. My daughter is supper messy, sometimes when I walk into her room I am not sure if I should cry or laugh.

Oh Jazzy, I'm thinking of you. Xxx

Also sending a special morning/afternoon greeting to other friends @larbert toffee I hope your symptoms have improved and you are on your way to recovery.

@Terrarian I am also hoping that your headaches are not agonizing you too much this week. I was thinking about you last night and how debilitating this condition must be for you. If CBD/Hemp is legal in the UK I would love to gift you a balm and some gummies that may help you relieve your chronic pain. PM if you want to chat more about it.

@Bluetintedspecs how are you mate? I don't think I have seen you post since I have been back.

@Brett Angell Delight How are things going for you this week?
All good here, thank you! Been a bit of a manic few weeks with birthday celebrations and all that stuff. Had some friends round the weekend just gone that I hadn’t seen in a while so that was another heavy one.

Having 4 weeks off the booze now and going to hit training harder so I can have another jump in progress before it’s time for the missus’s birthday and then Easter/Grand National weekend.

Signed up for Tough Mudder 10k (Google it…) in September so got a LOT of work to put in if I’m going to get through it in one piece.

Good luck to anyone explaining that in less than 4 pages. Will give it a shot though.

Blackadder was a very very funny comedy that ran for circa 6 seasons. The premise was that the central character, Edmund Blackadder, was a desendent of the family, and each season was based in a particular historical period. The last, and best. one was WW1.

Captain Blackadder was shrewd, but based on the front line, and to try to get out of being there, he pretended to be mad, (it will all go away), by sticking knitting needles up his nose.

It was a pastiche on Catch 22.

edit. That really really does not give it any justice at all does it!!! Soz about me.

I would put a clip of the scene up but you'd need to watch it in context of the series. It is one of the great British sitcoms and if you can get on to our sense of humour a must watch.

Here is a still of the scene.

If I remember right he got the idea after he phoned Lord Kitchener who owed him a favour . So he followed Kitchener’s advice, tea towel on head, pencils up nose , pretending he’d lost it , and getting his men to send for General Melchett saying he’d gone mad. Melchett duly approached and could be heard saying “ This better not be Blackadder trying that old trick of putting pencils up his nose and pretending to be mad. The last one who tried that I had him shot instantly “ .
Blackadder quickly stands up and says “ So Baldrick, that’s my demonstration of someone faking they’re mad, if you ever see somebody trying this trick , take them out and shoot them. Ah General Melchett what brings you to my tent…..”

One of the classic comedy series , with extra poignancy with it’s futility of war message .
