Morning blue, hope you are well this morning.

Had a horrible apocalyptic dream last night about literally watching the world end. Stood with my family and neighbours watching the moon literally go down and then complete darkness.

The relief to wake up in my own little corner of the world and go out and listen to the dawn chorus is very much needed today.

I think the underlying stress of Ukraine is probably ticking away in most of us now. Actually glad I’m working today to take my focus.

I'm sure you're right about the stress and upset that this terrible war is causing amongst everyone....but that is nothing , nothing compared to what those poor Ukrainian souls are having to deal with .
 
Good morning everyone.

Very misty start here today but Carol says that it's going to be a bright sunny day and she's always right.

As @Armaghtoffee has referenced this terrible war is taking a toll on everyone and I wake up fearful and concerned every day.

Mrs J off to the Charity shop today and I will do my usual gym visit and then spend the day in the garden.

Hope y'all have a lovely day and @Sassy Colombian I hope that your first day in your new job is everything that you hoped it would be.
 

Morning everyone and Happy St.David’s Day to all Welsh mascoteers. Rain forecast for today so have decided to spend the morning writing to a pen-friend (one for the oldies amongst us, the younger ones will have to Google it)! We “met” through a family history magazine, pre internet days, we share a common ancestor and although we’ve never met have become good friends over the years , rather like this thread only much slowerlol. Hope everyone has a good day and those with worries and pain find that they are eased.

@Armaghtoffee not surprised you had that dream, I'm sure mentally the awful situation over there has affected us all in one way or another and it's difficult to ignore.
Hope you all have a good day and the sun is also shining for you in your part of the world.

Yeah it's a horrible situation. On the one hand you have the suffering of the Ukranian people unfolding before our eyes, not to mention all the poor Russian people opposed to this war and literally putting their lives at risk by dong so openly. On the other you have all the worry and uncertainty of not knowing just how unhinged this Putin guy is, and how far he is willing to go if backed into a corner.

I'm old enough to remember the 70s and 80s and all the rhetoric during the cold war. But I don't recall it ever getting as worrying as this. Maybe I was just young and carefree then.

I think it’s because of the internet and news on TV, we didn’t have the coverage in them days that we do now, scary times for sure
 
Good afternoon all. It is a proper spring day here. Thick frost this morning but the sun has come out and it's lovely.

I think it's awesome that you have a penpal @Gwladysover . Letter writing is becoming a lost art. Cue another lesson from the nuns about writing letters. Black ink on white or cream paper is the only acceptable way. No coloured paper or flowery decorations and blue ink wasn't great either. something must have stuck because I only ever use black pens! ? ?

As others have alluded to, the situation in Ukraine is affecting us all. I'm glad you've mentioned it because I thought it was just me and I was being over dramatic. I am genuinely worried that nuclear weapons will be deployed because Putin is so unhinged. As @Barnfred 55 said, being around in the 1980s didn't seem to be as concerning, although I am still emotionally scarred by a film called Threads that I watched around that time about the after effects of a nuclear strike. It was terrifying.

@Sassy Colombian Hope the new job is going well. I'm sure you've already impressed them!
