Good evening all. Hope you have all had a lovely day. I've been a lady who lunches today - second Wednesday in a row. Pub lunch with a couple of my friends. A good girlie catch up. Very nice it was too. Then to the gym. OMG! We did upper body stuff. My arms were shaking by the end of it.

Enjoying the music discussions - I have always had a soft spot for Irish bands - Thin Lizzy, The Boomtown Rats, U2 ( early days), The Saw Doctors, The Pogues, The Dubliners. All of them. However my favourites from the Emerald Isle have to be The Undertones.

We've got a cat with a massive cob on - she is properly in a huff with us for leaving her on her own when we went to Liverpool. She has withdrawn petting rights and has taken to sitting on top of the fridge. She did accept some Dreamies today so she might be thawing!

FA Cup tomorrow. Hopefully a good win but this is Everton we are dealing with....

I'm doing excellent, darling. I'm so happy about my new role at the College and how things are going so far. Sure I'm busier than usual as I'm having to learn some new tasks but the more I learn about the job and my responsibilities the happier I am about it. My new supervisor is not into micromanagement so once I trained I'm going to have a lot of autonomy in this position, plus going out and already meeting people in the community has been so nice. The past two days I have more social interaction at work than I have in the last two years so it has been good for my soul. Especially with the situation in Ukraine it has helped me distract my mind because it has been very hard for me to witness what's happening in Ukraine and all the unjustified suffering that Putin is causing to them. He is more than a pr*ck , he really is the devil!

Isn't it crazy that Finland and Sweden had not intention to join NATO until Putin push them that direction. He always has wanted to create division among NATO and within free democracies but he totally underestimated how his evil occupation of Ukraine will bring NATO and the world together against Russia. In my state the governor order any contracts that North Carolina has issue with Russia or any Russian company to be void and also order all Russia vodka to be removed from the shelfs of the liquor stores. So now no only are governments the ones hitting Russia with sanctions but businesses are also taking the lead to remove their businesses from the country. Unfortunately it doesn't seem Putin cares, he would rather destroy Ukraine and Russia to the ground than give up on his goals, but hopefully the people around him come to his senses and remove him from office ?

I agree that NATO has to be careful. It is frustrating that it can't do more for Ukraine at the moment, but doing so will be a big risk that could send us into WWIII so it is thin rope the one NATO is walking. I just hate that Putin has all this power and now it threatening with the use of nuclear weapons if NATO interferes at all in the conflict. He is such a madman, I wish God did to Putin what NATO can't?

BTW, I was in such hurry yesterday that I didn't have the chance to comment on your gorgeous garden. You have done such amazing job, I look forward to seeing pics of your animals soon too. xxx

Thanks @Gwladysover Me too, things are going much better than I had expected :) I hope you enjoy your sausage and mash but I was wondering if when you talk about mash is this potatoes?
 
Good evening, friends. Just finishing my second day at work, still at the office but will be heading home after I'm done with this post. As I mentioned things are going great with my new job. I'm certainly busier than usual especially because I'm still doing two different roles at the College, and I'm also training my replacement but even as busy as I have been the past couple of days, I'm feeling very good about this career change in my life. My daughter has done really well so far and so has the hubby. I've been getting up early to exercise and after not going to the gym for almost two weeks I'm definitely feeling very sore like @anjelikaferrett Once I get home I have been getting food ready for my crew so they still get feed well throughout the day. Yesterday I made @Barnfred 55 beef stew but put everything on the crockpot and by the time we all got home smell delicious and everything was ready so I'm thinking I'll be using my crockpot a lot more not that I'm working full-time. The weather has been amazing in Asheville, we been having spring temperatures all week and it seems like they are going to continue, so I'm already dreaming of spring and gardening.

Sass, this is a frightening time. Ireland has always been neutral, but we are contributing to non military support for Ukraine- medical supplies etc.

We are also implementing the economic sanctions from the EU. No Russian aircraft permitted in Irish air space for example.
