Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Sass, this is a frightening time. Ireland has always been neutral, but we are contributing to non military support for Ukraine- medical supplies etc.

We are also implementing the economic sanctions from the EU. No Russian aircraft permitted in Irish air space for example.
Así es amigo :( I didn’t realized Ireland had established a no fly zone. How courageous of the government, and equality scary for the implications such enforcement will mean.

All of you my European friends along with my younger (brother who lives in Belgium) have been constantly on my mind and I still can stop tearing for the people of Ukraine. This shouldn’t be happening this time in age when we should be using our resources to achieve peace instead of war. I wanna be hopeful but seeing the massive destruction that Putin has caused the past couple it is heartbreaking. I wish Putin will stop this madness soon, but he is a crazy man so we will have to wait to see what happens next.

Now on a lighter note, I also have a very eclectic and diverse music taste. I like everything from classical, to 80s music groups like the Cure, Depeche Mode, the Police, Duran Duran, B-52s, U2, REM and of course Madonna (because girls just wanna have fun lol.) I absolutely love the Beatles, their free spirit tunes and messages of peace have always resonated with me. I grew up listening to them at home, my dad played their music and classical music too. In the right setting I can enjoy flamenco, jazz and reggae. I am very keen of Latin music because of my Colombian roots. So music such as salsa, vallenato, merengue, cumbia and reggaeton are my favorite Latin genres to dance and do some hip shaking. But I also really enjoy dancing to electronic and house music. My husband and I used to dance a lot when we were younger. There was a time in our lives that we had a lot of DJ friends so we spent a good amount of time during our 20s at dance clubs and even at some raves ? like I mentioned I like almost all music, I’m not crazy about American country music or rap but I don’t hate them either.

Then we have similar music taste, darling!

Btw, I have been meaning to mentioned that I got another cat outfit for Fresca and she absolutely hated it. She was so mad when she was wearing it snd wouldn’t stop meowing. Ironically she preferred the come around her head than the outfit. Neither of my cats are keen on wearing any sort of clothes

Morning everyone hope we are all ok. Daisy says thanks for the lovely comments.

I love my music, I contribute to the music thread quite a lot, I have a very diverse and wide ranging taste, Metal, Indie, rock, rap and hip-hop, electro, trance and other dance music, although now I don't go clubbing I listen to less dance music. I don't like limiting myself to genres if a bit of music/song is good it bothers me not what genre it's in. I used to enjoy going to concerts and raves. Not overly keen on pop music or country but I try not to slate another persons artistry.

Have a great day everyone if you can, I know things are tense around the world.

Morning all mascoteers ,after another day in hell for the Ukranians I wonder why the devil cannot be taken out .All this technology the Americans have must give them some idea of where he is or have I watched too many movies .I hope all posters and families have a great day and stay safe .
I would love to post on others posts but I am just not up to it .
A win tonight will help but my thoughts are much more grounded to be honest .

I thought the same on the technology bit this morning funny enough but I would guess Russia is every as advanced. Our best hope remains that the Russian nation turns on Putin.

Always someone about here blue if you fancy a chat.

Good evening all. Hope you have all had a lovely day. I've been a lady who lunches today - second Wednesday in a row. Pub lunch with a couple of my friends. A good girlie catch up. Very nice it was too. Then to the gym. OMG! We did upper body stuff. My arms were shaking by the end of it.

Enjoying the music discussions - I have always had a soft spot for Irish bands - Thin Lizzy, The Boomtown Rats, U2 ( early days), The Saw Doctors, The Pogues, The Dubliners. All of them. However my favourites from the Emerald Isle have to be The Undertones.

We've got a cat with a massive cob on - she is properly in a huff with us for leaving her on her own when we went to Liverpool. She has withdrawn petting rights and has taken to sitting on top of the fridge. She did accept some Dreamies today so she might be thawing!

FA Cup tomorrow. Hopefully a good win but this is Everton we are dealing with....
I could never warm to U2. A totally forced band always looking for the next image change or statement to claim the headlines. It was never a case of evolving with the music, it was always the image first.

Always content to play to the Irish diaspora but never missed an opportunity to have a dig at the country itself.

Rant over ?

I'm doing excellent, darling. I'm so happy about my new role at the College and how things are going so far. Sure I'm busier than usual as I'm having to learn some new tasks but the more I learn about the job and my responsibilities the happier I am about it. My new supervisor is not into micromanagement so once I trained I'm going to have a lot of autonomy in this position, plus going out and already meeting people in the community has been so nice. The past two days I have more social interaction at work than I have in the last two years so it has been good for my soul. Especially with the situation in Ukraine it has helped me distract my mind because it has been very hard for me to witness what's happening in Ukraine and all the unjustified suffering that Putin is causing to them. He is more than a pr*ck , he really is the devil!

I hope all is going well for you and the family. xxx
Onwards and upwards Sassy :) You just need to organise an outreach event with your students and a local brewery or two that is a mini beer festival and we can all pile over.

Putin is a potato head. ?
.
Steer clear of the Ukraine thread
