There was a documentary came out early 00's ish called no hunger in paradise, about young lad over here earning so much money they lose the drive and hunger to be the best, we are almost 20years on and wages are astronomically higher and what we get is a watered down product.
Half the best players sit on benches most weeks earning ridiculous money, why should they care, whereas come from a 3rd world country or such and the mentality is so different, they're doing it to survive and to feed their families and so are tremendously dedicated.
Anecdotally to that. Cars aren’t my thing but I did take note of the player’s ones at Goodison while standing in fan zone. Some serious machines but most notable was Gana who had a ‘normal’ car.

Morning all, Happy St. Patrick’s Day. Hope the test goes well @blue1948 , no tea is the worst, I always book my test as early as possible as I‘m gasping for a cuppa by the time I get home. Re football I agree 100% @Terrarian, footballers these days are so far removed from reality, not like the days when you could come across them down the pub or in my case the local bowling alleylol. There was a feed came up on my FB this morning with Speedomick telling a little lad called Lewis that he was Everton Fan of the Year, brought tears to my eyes. This should be put on a loop and played in the dressing room before the game tonight, might just stir them into putting in a bit of effort. Won’t spoil an absolutely beautiful morning by dwelling on that any longer, have a great day all.

Beautiful down here too. I have a job to do today that I have been putting off. A family of wood pigeons have taken a shine to the tree overhanging my back. I think they like the shoots, it's currently in bud. Problem is they have been using my garden furniture, which was propped up next to the fence during the storms, as a toilet. So the marigolds and JIF are coming out this morning?

Anyway deed has now been done. Said garden furniture is now sparkling clean and moved away from troublesome tree branches. Must admit I'm not as squeamish as I used to be with such tasks. Once your hand has been down a toilet a few times i supposed you get used to it. lol
