Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Good morning all. I dropped Mr F off at work this morning and went to get fuel. Nearly died at the price. Diesel was £1.80 a litre. One. Pound. Eighty. Utterly shocking. And our lovely Government is shifting the narrative now that rising prices are all down to the situation in Ukraine so we shouldn't moan. What a load of cack.

Anyway apologies for the politics but I needed to say that. How is everybody - especially @Joey66 @jazzy and @Terrarian - I'm glad you are back. Loving the story about Daisy eating the poo- I know it's gross but she's quite a character. Do you watch Dog House on Channel 4? I think you would love it. It's about matching stray/rescue dogs to families. I cry every week! There's also an Aussie version that is equally good. I think the Channel 4 series has just finished but they both have a Facebook page if you do social media.

I was proper miserable yesterday. No idea why either. Do you ever get that feeling where you just can't be bothered with anybody or anything. That was me. However today I feel completely different. Weird isn't it.

@Gwladysover I loved your squirrel picture. My Dad has one that regularly visits his garden. It's the fattest squirrel I've ever seen- probably because my brother is always feeding it. I'll try and get a pic of it next time I'm there.

Have a lovely day all, Catch up later. x

She's certainly a character lol so much personality. I don't watch it, I don't really watch terrestrial TV. When I used to go to work I'd always put films on with dogs in for Daisy, she loves watching animals on TV. I feel like I can't be bothered with anyone or anything all the time, sucks to be me lol

That's so sweet. I can just imagine her sitting watching the dog films while you were out. IIt's at times like that I wish our furry friends could talk. she could have given you reviews of the films - "well that one was rubbish. don't put that on again" or "the overacting from that labrador was unbelievable" :D There's loads of Dog House clips on You Tube. Sorry you feel so down but I know how hard it must be for you with the pain you have. I'm glad you post in here, it's always good to hear from you.

Thank you Anj, I have a pic somewhere of her sat watching tv, I'll see if I can find it, she does like watching a bit of tv when she's not under her blanket which is 99% of the time haha. I enjoy the conversation in here, some good people post in here and due to how it started, seems to have some respect on the forum so no BS goes on in here.

The day after the Funeral - meeting this PM as my Mother in law was let to fall over in A&E - so we asked our MP to take it up for us for NHS continuous care as she has been bed bound in hospital for 3 months - the meeting has been cancelled twice as the MP caseworker has been so diligent, but I feel legal action will be the answer in the end - My barristers hat will be on beside my wife today - they will try to fob us off - I have anger attacks - i will have to prep our case ......

I spoke to a solicitor & he stated - NHS premises they let an 88-year-old lady fall to break her left hip & left wrist they operated - failed duty of care she went in with a heart problem - no different bed bound for 3 months .... pathetic & sad she will need a nursing home now before it was 4 carers a day & she could walk up her stairs ....

It may go legal after today ......

So sad to read this. I hope things go well this afternoon. You must be so angry and will be difficult to keep your temper but my Dad always said “The minute you lose your temper, you lose your argument“ something I have tried to remember over the years, not always successfully I admit. Sorry if that sounds preachy. Best wishes.?

How are you doing this morning Jazz. How's the back? Need to keep busy if you're upto it.
I'm ok thanks mate. Still sinking in.

Back is still bad but bad back or not I had to bury my little boy this morning .

We then took Tintin for a big walk and cooked him an omlette for his treat. We need to make a fuss of him , having slightly neglected him in the last week.

Raining this pm so not much I can do so just listening to the cricket from Barbados.

Stay safe everyone.

Have you got a plot in your garden?

They are the reasons why the native red squirrels are dying off T. Don't think they attack them or anything like that but I think they carry a disease that kills off the reds.
I wouldn't say that they are the reason.
There is a disease (something similar to myxomatosis in rabbits) which has decimated red squirrel populations. The grey squirrel's are much more resistent to it. Although, as you say, they can still catch it and pass it on.
Despite the bad press though, grey squirrel's are not the actual cause of the disease and we should be happy that they are not dying at the same rate as reds.
