Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

I'm feeling a bit better today thanks for asking, had some real bad pain the last week though and then stomach cramps for about 3 days, I'm ok though, even though I've been feeling crap I've had some nice walks with Daisy as the temperature is much milder. All her mates are still in the barn though haha so she ate their poo instead lol she's so disgusting.
That's gross.

Yeah I've noticed that all the cattle are still in their barns when I've been out walking. We have 3 dairy farms nearby. I guess they won't let them out until they know the grass they eat is going to be replenished.

It will be soon I think, they look like they're running out of cud, the sheep are out in the fields but on the other side of train tracks so we can't go see them. That walk I go on where the cows are, we have to walk right through the middle of the farm and I hate it as she tries to eat all the poo and it winds me up lol

Royal Navy mate but things didn't work out, I have struggled for years and years with mental health and it was the same back then, I am only now at a point where I may get help but yeah whatever it is I have wrong with me has ruined my life on more than one occasion.

I loved the Navy and wish things had turned out different, only did 2 years and self destructed. I still speak to my best mate from the mob, lives in Rainhill now he's from Liverpool and is red but we talk occasionally and I met up back in 2014 with him and his brother good fellas and I left 30 years ago nearly mental.
Mate the mental health care around now is first class. Since April/May 2020 I have been supporting someone through diagnosis, med trials and CBT. ‘Pills and skills’ is how the doctors have described it to me, all about finding the right mix to give the person the quality of life they deserve. In my own circumstances, yes they still have dark times of course but are in a much better place in general now.

What attracted you to the Navy T? Seeing the world I’m guessing.

My brother joined before me and to be honest I couldn't wait to leave home, I got offered a place in the RAF as well but went Navy instead, after training I served on HMS Argyll a type 23 frigate and things went downhill from there.

Too much info mate.

Don't have many sheep down here. There are a few sheep farms dotted about but it's mainly cattle. Loads of daffs grown in my neck of the woods too. They're going over now just as they're in flower everywhere else. I reckon the tree at the back will be in full blossom by early next week. And my potted acer is starting to bud.

That would have been around the time of the first Iraq war. Where you involved in that.

We got engaged on the night it all kicked off. It was Cals birthday. We were staying at the Queens Head in Hawkshead. Do you know it?

I joined just, literally months after the first gulf war so a lot of lads on my ship had been there although the ship wasn't as it wasn't even commissioned until 92. Never been to hawkshead went to Torpoint in Cornwall(HMS Raleigh), Fareham(HMS Collingwood),Plymouth(Argyll) and Portsmouth(HMS Nelson) were where I served.

Those photos I have have got a few from Cornwall when I was a little kid, don't overly remember but do remember we used to go there on hols

EDIT: Just realised Hawkshead is by me lol, still don't know it though lol

Yeah. Between Windermere and Conniston.

I live pretty close to Culrose The Fleet Air arm base. Its just across The Helford River as the crow flies but its probably 15 miles away by road. The Fleet Auxiliary boats are also based at Falmouth.

Morning all this fine Wednesday.

Was chatting to a Leeds fan while walking this morning and he was adamant that we are safe. While I don’t buy into that myself, hearing someone optimistic about Everton put a spring in my step.

Hope you all have something pleasant planned for the day and have as peaceful a one as you can.
I'll hang on to any scrap of positivity at the moment.

Just thought I’d post this pic I took in the park yesterday. I know they are considered to be vermin but I still thought this little chap/ette was cute.View attachment 159289
I don't consider them vermin at all. They need to be controlled in area's that are populated by red squirrels but it's hard not to like the little critters. We have a family near us that use our back fence as an assault course and it brightens my day to see them.
