Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Some very sad news from me I'm afraid.

My baby boy Blue has chronic kidney failure and we need to say goodbye to him tonight.

Absolutely devastated.

I won't be posting for a couple of days.

Take care everyone.
Gutted to hear this mate. As all four legged children's parents know it is as painful as the loss of any member of the family.

Hope you and Mrs J find comfort in the wonderful memories that you shared with Blue. x

I am off soon to my best mate's funeral - died in a standard routine operation with a massive Stroke last Monday - absolutely gutted - he has requested casual dress - Boy will I miss him - his wife only died 9 months ago with the dreaded Alzheimer's-

You know you are getting old when the best friends around you die .... sob

It will be a big Funeral ...
Sorry to hear this Joey. He sounds like he was quite a character. I hope that he got the send off that he deserved.

You'll soon have the the new life of spring reminding you of the good things that you have around you. I have noticed the dawn/dusk chorus has levelled up in the last week or so and some of the seedlings sown are sprouting.

Your mate will be looking over you, of that I have no doubt. Take care mate.

Ordered all his Dahlia seed doh - life goes on he had a great send off - god bless him

Morning all, hope you're all good and looking after yourselves.

I had some memories appear this week, my sister has just moved house and gave me a load of photos from my childhood which was a nice surprise.

It had a photo of my passing out parade in 1991 and I haven't seen that pic since then, there was also a pic of my best mate who came down with my parents for the parade, sadly he passed away in 2013 from alcoholism so it was good to see a pic of him.

2 young lads with their lives ahead, ones dead and ones a mess before we hit 50, not really at a place in life where I expected to be to be honest, to say things haven't gone to plan would be an understatement. lol onwards and upwards eh.

Man makes plans and God laughs at them.

Even in the digital era there is still something really special about an old photograph. A portal right into the past and you can’t help but reflect on it all.

You mention your passing out parade, is that a police/army thing or are you going to laugh and tell me Boy Scouts?

Royal Navy mate but things didn't work out, I have struggled for years and years with mental health and it was the same back then, I am only now at a point where I may get help but yeah whatever it is I have wrong with me has ruined my life on more than one occasion.

I loved the Navy and wish things had turned out different, only did 2 years and self destructed. I still speak to my best mate from the mob, lives in Rainhill now he's from Liverpool and is red but we talk occasionally and I met up back in 2014 with him and his brother good fellas and I left 30 years ago nearly mental.

I really must learn to read on a few posts before posting?

Didn't get around to saying yesterday with all that was going on but it's good to see you back posting mate.

Always worry when you go missing for a while. How are you doing today?.
I'm feeling a bit better today thanks for asking, had some real bad pain the last week though and then stomach cramps for about 3 days, I'm ok though, even though I've been feeling crap I've had some nice walks with Daisy as the temperature is much milder. All her mates are still in the barn though haha so she ate their poo instead lol she's so disgusting.
