Had my endoscopy today, bad news I'm afraid. They found cancer of the esophagus. They took biopsies but until they have been analysed we won't know what the score is. Doc didn't sound too hopeful though. Couldn't have come at a worse time what with her indoors suffering same and a house move imminent. Good job we have a brilliant family to help.

Be lucky mate.

Me and the lad went there after breakfast for a walk and just dandered into the ground. The groundsmen were setting up and had a chat with them, gave us a football for a kick about on the field. Small gesture but wonderful for a kid.

Donegal people are salt of the earth. They are all like family.

Good morning lovely people. Another cold morning here in Asheville, but it is supposed to be sunny, although not very warm today. I’ve another busy day ahead as I’m still supposed to be making and baking American biscuits this morning and then I will be heading to my friends house to decorate and get everything ready for the baby shower. Yesterday I did a lot of baking during the afternoon. Got to bake blueberries muffins, I also made some Nutella muffins (first time making those but my daughter approved of them). Then I baked banana muffins, a ham, cheddar cheese and veggies frittata, plus a spinach and feta frittata for my vegetarian friends. Here is a pic of all the goodies and my hard work

I had just started in the Civil Service that month and was based in Kilmallock, Co Limerick. No car so stayed over weekends. I listened to that on a tiny radio.

Poor beer selection at the club but having said that, like a summer’s day and the Tennants was selling well as the draught lager.
