Think it was about 73/74. I went to St Margaret's which was just down the road and the school was given the afternoon off if they wanted to go to the cricket on the first day (it was a properly organised trip) and it was a beautifully sunny day. Yeah Greenidge was playing that day. Clive Lloyd too, who got the most fantastic reception when he came out to bat. Think he was out pretty much first ball to an Andy Roberts snorter. It was actually poetic justice for Roberts who got a huge amount of racist stick IIRC. Different times I guess.

Didn't know you were a St Margaret's boy! As I've told you we lived at the bottom of Beechwood Road by the prom so a very short walk to the cricket club. I can't remember when that match was but some of the players I saw there were brilliant. Apart from the ones already mentioned there was John Wright, Alvin Khallicharan, Mike Proctor, Faroukh Engineer, Barry Richards, Wasim Akram. So many. Also quite often used to see Peter Reid watching. he's a big cricket fan. Just sitting amongst the punters.

The daffs have all gone over by us Gwladys. But I'm reliably informed by one of my new best mates from the bus that the bluebells are just coming out. We get a really good showing at Carwinion woods on the outskirts of the village so next time we get a nice day I'll pop down there and get some photies.

It's a TV service, you get all the channels of sky, BT and world wide stuff very very cheap, you can watch all the sports but it's piracy I guess. It is very popular though lots of people use it instead of paying the ridiculous fees for SKY etc. If I'm working I wouldn't have it but times are hard.

Having a prawn salad for lunch with my own homemade marie rose sauce. I use low calorie salad cream in mine rather than mayonnaise, purely because I prefer the taste, and also add a touch of tabasco to give it a bit of a kick. No surprise there for those that know my culinary tastes. lol

Tonight I'm going to cook a sausage casserole, which is a first for me. I'll let you know how I get on.

Well blow me down guys, just had a phone call and they're coming to look at my wet room floor tomorrow, strange coincidence that the day I said it's been nearly 12 moon, unreal.

Slight hitch. Eldest daughter who is working like a Trojan for us phoned to say her hubby has got Covid so she has got to isolate. It will all fall on daughter no.2 now for a spell. Got my CT scan today, then the last of the current hospital visits next week.

My niece and her partner have had it for years, I just asked if they still have it and they do, so asked if they can sort me out next week.

It is, just need the slug problem sorting now and maybe I can get some flooring down in my kitchen, I want some vinyl flooring but i have been waiting for the work to be done.

There has to be a hole in the wall as my kitchen is always freezing as well even with heating on and my flat usually warms very well.
