Sheep have been in the field by our orchard for a few weeks. Must be lambing season soon pretty much.

Sheep have been in my field for 20 years....oh they're our pets , does that count?

What do they graze on? The chickens look well satisfied, but unless its their breed, the sheep look a bit ramshakle.

Is the one closest to the camera a ram?

@roydo .... They are extremely well fed!!
They get Ewe and Lamb food twice a day plus hay every morning.
In fact they are too fat. Both were rescued from the slaughter house after they weren't cute enough for the petting farm.

They've been there that long they've ate all the grass.

You'd be amazed how quickly the grass recovers in the summer.
In the winter with the sheep and goats grazing the grass gets scalped , hence the need to give them hay.

Rescue sheep! Love you. Nik and I spent 10 years having rescue (battery) hens in the orchard. Some would become amazingly tame, following her into the kitchen, and sitting on her lap being fed mini tomatos.

Seeing them arrive as naked birds, then being fed properly and given space and open air, pretty soon they would become lovely looking hens. And their eggs were amazeballs.

Regulations and red tape ruined the enjoyment unfortunately.

Living next door to a farmer that has lambs now out coming right up to our fence. We have three dogs. Really need to keep a close watch on them.

Good news!

We raised just over £5000 at the animal rescue Dog Show today.

All our animals are rescues. 2 sheep , 2 goats , 1 Cockerell ( only has 1 leg ) 12 hens , 2 dogs and 1 cat.
We spend more on food for them than ourselves!

Other than one dog, the same here. Cats and hens though, but I always fancied a goat, but never happened.
