I actually started dating him when I was 18, married at 20. Can you do the math for my age? Never mind you don’t have to lol
Hope your dad is improving day by day.Good evening everybody. Been mad busy at work, usual end of the month crazy panic to try and meet targets and close cases. So much panic that we've got overtime Saturday and Sunday. 6 hours both days. I'm going to do it - double time both days. Well worth it and will be on the end of next month's pay for Christmas. Other than that nothing very exciting to report. The highlight being while doing the weekly shop in Tesco I bought a packet of crumpets that had been reduced to 3p. My life is so rock n roll! I'm back in Liverpool on Sunday, Dad still in hospital and depending on test results he might be allowed out on Monday. Fingers crossed.
You sound like you've had a good day Messy. Great news about eating the sandwich. I couldn't resist a chicken joke after reading all the others:
What do you get if you cross a chicken with a cement mixer?
A bricklayer.
Yes up until a few months ago. I had been doing it for 20 odd years but decided not to stand for re-election, I guess I'm looking for a quieter life now.Hope your dad is improving day by day.
Did I pick up before you are the Union Rep in your place?
Apologies if wrong. Just always a role I find interesting.
Never been in a union myself really but I do work with them all the time. Always struck me to be such a huge operation to have to train up your reps across what can be a diverse sector.Yes up until a few months ago. Thanks for the good wishes for my Dad
I agree. There are definitely categories of reps. One whose prime motivation is to get out of the day job, another group who think that being a rep will stop them from getting into trouble and the third group who genuinely want to make a difference and help the members. I was lucky enough to end up in quite a high position but loved being a branch rep best of all and representing my members. I never went full time union either, you lose touch if you do that.Never been in a union myself really but I do work with them all the time. From what I have experienced work wise, a wide spread of rep ability but the good ones are a serious force to be reckoned with. With those Folk it is a vocation and people are lucky to have them as Premier League level local spokespersons.
Always good to have someone standing up for you.
You just summed up my experience of Unions right there. Absolutely necessary but some people just don’t get the memo of the greater collective.I agree. There are definitely categories of reps.
