Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Nice one re the pasty! God I would love one with a pint at lunchtime.

Fun fact, a pasty here is actually a battered burger. The type of pasty you are talking about is only found in the English supermarkets.

It’s lovely here although very cold wind. Perfect walking weather for me to go earn that pint later ?
I thoroughly enjoyed a pastie when in Wells, Somerset. Gorgeous.

Sounds like they had a definite plan for your treatment from the start and you are ahead of the game now.

I hope Mrs M is doing well.
That would be nice but I'm afraid is not the case. In the letter the Doc refers to my eating problem as Anorexia while the recent endoscopy showed it was cancer. Her indoors is doing as well as can be expected thanks, but the arthritis she has is currently the biggest problem. She is hardly mobile now.

Worthwhile revisiting that comment with your Doc I would say. While I have huge respect for GP’s they are but gate keepers to the specialists.

Hopefully Mrs M’s spirits are high despite the setbacks. We are all thinking of you both.

We are with you @Methuselah . This is a big, probably dysfunctional, but overall loving family mate.

Morning all. While I'm in a very boring team meeting I thoughtI would have a catch up. Love the joke @Gwladysover Here's mine: How do you get a cheese eating bear out of a tree? Camembert. Good luck with the skip @Methuselah . Enjoy your pasty @Barnfred 55. Lovely bright day here but deicer needed this morning. It's also Friday. Weekend ahead. Let's be positive and think about sunshine and spring. Saw some lambs yesterday. Very cute. Will have to go my boss has just asked me a question. I can't multi task!
Tell you what Anj. That was bloody brilliant. You know what I'm talking about don't you? And it's not my pasty (although that was rather nice too).

Just to clarify. The Doc was a hospital Doc not a GP. Thanks for your support, very much appreciated.

you need to query that oh very pleasant 85 year old. You can't go from cancer to anorexia without some explanation. Although I'm sure your family will already be on the case for you. Sending good wishes to Mrs M x

I worked a 10 hour 8 minute day today. Never been known for years. The question my boss wanted to ask me in the meeting was would I process a referral that was about to breach our aged case threshold. It was within one day of it. The Home Office get very arsey if we have too many old cases. Took me all day to do it. I must be mad! The next thing my boss messaged me about was would I mind giving up a day's holiday at Easter because we were oversubscribed. What can you say. The day he wanted was Easter Tuesday - I was going to see my Dad on that day so I've changed my plans I'm going to see Dad Monday pm, work from his house on Tuesday and come home Wednesday. My brother is away so even if I'm working it will still be a bit of company for him. I am convinced however that I'm being taken advantage of due to my laid back persona!

oh Ange, you are just such a nice and dedicated worker that I have to agree with you on your assessment that your boss may be taking advantage of you. It happened to me, not so much with my boss, but with my coworkers at my previous position with the College. I was doing more work than everyone else, that’s what happens when one is too nice and laid back going. Just make sure but to allow yourself to get burn because then you would become resentful. Have a good time with your dad. How has he been doing? No more bleeding I hope.

Its really cold in Kilkenny. Thankfully I can stay in bed longer.
When it is too cold I have a hard time getting out of bed, that’s why Im excited about the weather changing. Here in Asheville we had some snow flakes earlier in the day but the sun came out a bit ago and it has gotten warmer, enough for me to sit down on the porche to enjoy a ginger beer ?
