Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Skip is coming today, big clear out this week-end. Get rid of all the things we thought we needed and put away in a box, never to be seen again! Still, moving from a 4/5 bedroom detached to a two bedroom apartment (no stairs) is a good motivator.
That is a very moving post ! Good luck throwing stuff out ,I would probably rent somewhere to hoard it .

Morning all on this bright sunny frosty morning. Just had breakfast and granddaughter is reading a joke book: What do you do when you run out of room for your pigs?
Build a sty scraper!?
She’s here until tomorrow.
Have a great day all.
You've set a precedent now Gwladys. You'll be expected to finish each of your future morning posts with a joke. ;)

Morning all. Just off down to the local to see if I can pick up a pasty for lunch before they all sell out. I usually get there too late. Made a samll profit on day 1 of Aintree and looking forward to this afternoons racing. Then it's G&T Friday (can't believe it's come round again already) and a look in the freezer to decide what;s for tea. Lots to choose from.

Try and have a good day all and try not to stress to much over our beloved club. It'll still be here after we're long gone. ;)

The club will still be around mate 100%. Clubs even survive administration. Dozens have been through it.

Pasty hunt a success. In fact there were loads. It's either feast or famine lol The weather's awful down here today though so there won't be many out and about walking.

Nice one re the pasty! God I would love one with a pint at lunchtime.

Fun fact, a pasty here is actually a battered burger. The type of pasty you are talking about is only found in the English supermarkets.

It’s lovely here although very cold wind. Perfect walking weather for me to go earn that pint later ?

Morning all. While I'm in a very boring team meeting I thoughtI would have a catch up. Love the joke @Gwladysover Here's mine: How do you get a cheese eating bear out of a tree? Camembert. Good luck with the skip @Methuselah . Enjoy your pasty @Barnfred 55. Lovely bright day here but deicer needed this morning. It's also Friday. Weekend ahead. Let's be positive and think about sunshine and spring. Saw some lambs yesterday. Very cute. Will have to go my boss has just asked me a question. I can't multi task!

Anjelika, when you saw the lambs, did it ring a bell in your mind that you need to get some mint sauce?

You need to get down to Cornwall to enjoy a proper Cornish pasty AT. The stuff you get in the supermarkets are not the same. I was watching Rick stein,s Cornwall on TV last night and he was eating a pasty. He said "you never eat a pasty off a plate, always, always out of the bag". And it's true. When I eat my pasty later it will be out of the paper bag it came in. ;)

It's actually just brightening up here. But, as you say, a cold wind.

I’m starving now after reading that!!

What’s the most important bit of the Cornish pasty- the filling or the pastry?

I'll sit on the fence here and say both. The filling can be great but if the pastry isn't just right and vice versa. I also like my filling quite moist. Don't like dry pasties. If you ever see pasty that uses mince meat or carrots, then it's not a proper pasty. Chuck or skirt steak, potato, onion, swede and salt and black pepper.

Edit. I'm starving too now so you know where I'm off to. lol

Received a copy of a letter today sent to my GP by the hospital. I was a bit puzzled as the letter was requesting appointments for various things which I have already had done. I thought they had got the wrong patient but then noticed that they referred to the patient as ' a very pleasant 85 year old' so knew it must be me! I then noticed that the only date on the letter was down with the signature .................'signed on (date)'. which proved it was written before I had received any treatments, some three weeks ago.

Sounds like they had a definite plan for your treatment from the start and you are ahead of the game now.

I hope Mrs M is doing well.

Good Friday, mascoteers. The sun is shining here but it is a cold day, there are predictions of snow showers tonight something I didn’t want to experience anymore this season. But thankfully the warm will return by Sunday, which would be great as I’ve promised my mum that I would help her finish mulching her garden. Today is my first day working from home, with my new job I have to be on campus but my boss told me that I can work remotely once per week and I’m going to be able to change days throughout the week depending on what’s happening so I’m happy about this perk. Tomorrow i actually have to work at an expo, first time I’ll be working on a Saturday in ages but I’m excited about it. Plus the location is only a few minutes from home and I’ll be able to watch the game before I have to head out. I’m feeling more stressful that I would like about tomorrow’s match. The whole relegation reality has hit me and I’m thinking now of the great consequences this result could have even on GOT. So today I’m feeling worry about our club, worry about our world, but hoping to get my spirits lifted later this afternoon when I go to my daughter’s school. I’m volunteering there today and hanging out with kids is always a fun experience for me. Later this afternoon I’m also be meeting with a book club that I’ve joined at the college. Now that I work full-time I have been invited to be part of the Global Education Committee and this week they began a club with a book of short stories from around the world. I have really enjoy it so far, although some of the stories have been sad.

After reading @Barnfred 55 in the delicious pasties from Cornish I’m getting hungry. Btw, @Gwladysover and @anjelikaferrett keep bringing the jokes, I can still use more laughs.
