Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Morning all, bit cloudy here. Didn’t have much planned for today which is just as well as we have just been asked to dog sit for sons two cavaliers. Used to do this quite often when they lived close by so will be like old times. They are off to York for the day which I hope will cheer them up a bit as they have had a bit of a knock back recently. They had a trip to Disney in Florida booked for 2020 which they have had to postpone twice and was re-booked for this August. What started out at £6k has now spiralled to over £12k and was starting to cause my son considerable stress, so they took the difficult decision to cancel the trip. Cost them nearly £800 in lost fees but nothing compared to the potential cost on his mental health. So disappointed for them all though. Hope everyone has a good day and those with health problems / worries find that they are eased.?

Terrible situation but it is just money at the end of the day ,the old saying it can't buy you good health applies here .Of course it is not nice losing that amount of money that is for sure true but they will go another time .

Got a letter about a hospital appointment today. It was at Windsor hospital later this month and the appointment was for 9.00am. As my daughter will take me and she lives in Buckinghamshire, I phoned to ask for a later time. It took 25 minutes before a human being interrupted the music and recorded announcements only to tell me that the lady who dealt with that wouldn't be back 'till tomorrow!

Those automated phone queues are one of my pet hates! Hopefully you'll get it sorted, mate.

We had a similar situation but didn’t lose as much as your son. Once ours was postponed we lost the free child place which meant £1k increase alone and the holiday itself went up with everyone trying to recover their costs. We bit the bullet and waived goodbye to our deposits rather than be held to ransom.

Oh my goodness. That must have been such a worry for him. I think he's done the right thing. Hope you have had a good day with the dogs.

Hello all. One more day to go then I'm off until 25 April - apart from Easter Tuesday. Very much looking forward to it. I'm going to do some gardening, visit Liverpool and then we have our weekend away in Newmarket. Hopefully get out on some nice long walks as well - the weather forecast says it is going to get warmer so no excuses.

Hope you are all having a good Monday x

Morning everyone,

Well the weather is absolutely terrible here , chucking it down - however much needed for the garden.

Just back from the gym where I've been working on rehabing my achillies. For the last week it's been painful ( after I played a table tennis tournament with little or no rest between matches ) . It's painful but doesn't stop me doing anything - just another sign that my body is falling apart.

Interesting news from Goodison that Unsworth is on his way. Not before time in my view . The paucity of players produced from the academy in his time is dreadful. I wonder if he jumped before he was pushed or whether there really was something in thos DBB rumours .

Either way I hope that this heralds a new regime that will not tolerate mediocrity and critically looks at every aspect of the club.

After a good weekend of results it's a bit frustrating to wait over a week for the next game but hopefully we will have Mina and DVB back for the Leicester game - a massive , must win game.

Anyway off to Lydiate later to coach a few kids and hoefully not do any more damage to my ankle.

Have a good one everyone.
