We can't put everyone on the sell list. A 3 year contract extension would have been enough though.

There is a raw honesty I like about Keane, and his acknowledgement to look to improve his game and for the team as a whole to improve. Unlike some others that seem to revel in anonymity on and off the pitch.

Michael Keane has signed a new five-year deal to keep him at Everton until June 2025.

The 27-year-old impressed in his performances under Carlo Ancelotti and played every minute of last season's Premier League games after it resumed in June.

Yep agreed!

We need Keano to boss the defence this season (he's arouind the peak age now).....There's no one else up for it .....Judging by post-virus run in Carlo's well happy with him so am i...

and "in Carlo i trust".........Now if Carlo could just sort out Jordan Pickfords game mind set the defence would be set up for a decent season for a change........the back four need to have full confidence in the goalie or else it's gonna end up being the same ol' same ol' story at the back...

Getting Romero from Utd would be more than useful just in case.

Regards...Jack

Mad how some people just say "Carlo rates him that'll do"

Even great managers can be wrong, fact is and it is a fact since he's been here he's been bad far more than he's been good, until players are consistent for a period longer than a dozen games they should not be given new and improved contracts. It sets a bad tone as these players will end up thinking they are doing enough.

I really like him when he's playing well. As others have said though he is a confidence player. Maybe playing with more leaders on the pitch will help shield him from crumbling.

On another note, good to see Contract Dave is looking well.

Okay, whatever. He's a decent enough lad and player in the right system. Hopefully the wage number isn't too high. The only issue is that he and Mina are incapable of playing together in a back two. I'd honestly rather play Branthwaite with one of them, then the two together. Wonder if we're considering a back three where he's in the central CB role. Or he's just resigned to riding the bench half the time.
