Pleased for him. Hope playing for England doesn’t negatively impact his confidence like it did a few months ago. I know England is the pinnacle for these guys and it would reward their good form but I’d be happy for him and DCL to just stay at Finch Farm and listen to Carlo.

Very pleased with how he's playing, often pondered who's the better player out of him and Mina as they're a very similar style of CB but gun to my head got to pick one, Keane starts every time now.

Can't wait for Holgate to be back, will be a very complimentary pairing.

He has had his issues with confidence and mentality in the past, but there's no doubt for me that he has the ability to be a very good defender in this league.

...it’s very important to have the right partner alongside because he will always get caught out with lack of mobility and pace. Once last night (first half) a ball went over his head and he was out the game but Digne did brilliant to clear up. On another occasion, his forward got beyond him and he had no powers of recovery and could easily have given a goal or penalty away.

Keane’s aerial ability is a plus but he’s not powerful and combative and I’m still of the opinion quality opposition Strikers look forward to playing against him. He’s playing with real poise and confidence and nobody is more delighted with his form than me but I’d be very tempted by a big money offer whilst his stock is high.

Playing well, helped by Carlo's switch for the back line to sit deeper. Still has tendency to end up a foot or so under the ball on dangerous crosses.

There s some improvement with his passing but the flaws are still there, he can’t read a game, his lack of awareness keeps him two seconds behind the actual play, yes sell him while his stock is high is a very shrewd observation to my eyes, but other fans see him as a permanent fixture for the Blues, one man’s meat is another man’s poison.

I’m a great believer in partnerships in central defence, look at Carvalho and Terry, Vidic and Ferdinand, Radcliffe and Mountfield, then Waggy. If you get the blend right then the sum of the parts are greater than the individual. Keane has worried me in the past for the same reasons you have suggested. In a good team with competition and the right partner. He could blossom.

Got to say he did improve at the end of zoumas loan ,both played well the back of the season. Now tho looks the player we paid the money for, got to give him some credit after the stick he's had in the past.

Michael also has to give confidence to his partner, talk to and encourage whoever plays alongside him, I never noticed him talking to young Branthwaite during the few games he played with him, in fact Branthwaite twisted his ankle correcting the mistake Keane made attempting a poor clearance, which should have been a simple task.
