To be fair to Keane I back him when he’s beside Godfrey, he needs pace to help him which is one thing he clearly lacks. Often times last season when we were under pressure he was the one who was heading everything away.
He simply just can’t play a high line alongside Holgate, who almost always has an error in him per game.
As well as pace being one thing he lacks, he is also devoid of a brain, any ability to pass the ball to a blue shirt, and the knack of making a decision inside 90 days. He seriously needs to be working on his Christmas cards now, if he's gonna get them there by 25th December. On the upside, he's good at clearing corners and free kicks as long as nobody nudges him, or tries to complete for the ball in any way.

For those who are double jabbed and test negative yes. But I dont know if it's the same in the PL or even if all the players are vaccinated etc
So strange how ambiguous it is... I mean is it ten days or does it end on the 16th... And how come we have so many players affected I don't know of another EPL club with so many out due to it.

Think he really struggles playing the ball out when’s he’s the left sided centre half - if you’re left footed you open your body out when you get the ball and there’s a lot more options available including the percentage ball into the channel if there’s nothing on.

Playing on the left side means he keeps coming inside into traffic- against Man City it led to him aimlessly wandering into midfield and losing the ball and yesterday he couldn’t see a pass on so stuttered and got caught.

If he plays it has to be as the right sided centre half which to be fair to Benitez he did switch him at half time

Made a mistake. But the team were all stood still not offering for him.

didn’t fall to pieces and kept it together for the second half.

we move on

Well 2nd half, he was 10 yards in front of an opposition forward when the guy made the ground up on him because he stood still for a second or two wondering what to do.

Another time he ambled back allowing Armstrong to charge him.

He could easily have given 3 goals away.

Seemed like Benitez hadnt seen the centre backs play before.

All of our centre backs are best on the right side, even Godfrey. Yet the only one we have who looks good on the left is branthwaite.

Hes also the only player who didnt make Keane fall apart. Could be that Keane felt he had to be the leader next to him?

I'm sure you'll be very consistent with your application of how many goals a CB could have conceded if everything had gone wrong. Keane has a role to play here still. I'd probably see what Mina and Godfrey can do as a pairing but Mina is going to get hurt and Godfrey is going to lose track of people so Keane will be back.

It’s why decent left footed centre halfs are like golddust

Keane should be sold.

The end.

Exactly. Branthwaite seemed to be two footed but his old manager said he was right footed.

Shows what practice and training can do.

It's just wild, sell Keane he makes too many mistakes and play Godfrey every minute of every game, a guy who literally has gone 90 minutes without losing someone leading to a chance once or maybe twice while playing CB for us. I know we all love Godfrey, he tackles HARD and is dead committed.
