It's 100% relevant, you said he must be good if he played for England, I showed you that that measurement is clearly not a smart one. By your definition, Phil Neville is a good player, and certainly better than Keane.

Then in my opinion you know nothing about football. Of course Phil Neville was a good player.

Measurement? You want to talk about measurent? Of the 30 million male population in this country, to be deemed the best player in his position even for one game, let alone 10 games is the pinnacle of what any person can achieve. That means at that time, someone has deemed there is no one better than you in your country in doing what you do.

You are belittling England caps - they are not easily won as your Howard Kendall argument shows.

So yes, Michael Keane must be good to have played for his country, so would Phil Neville and Carlton Palmer have been to do the same. Who was better at what and why is a totally different debate.

Howard Kendall was definitely good, but never quite deemed the best in his country at the time he played. Doesn't make him better or worse than the players you mention. It just means he never reached the pinnacle of his playing career..

I'm not comparing Keane to you and me, I'm comparing him to his peers. This isn't a difficult concept to grasp, he is poo.

Exactly my point. Comparing him to his peers, he has been chosen as the best person in his position on multiple occasions. What is so difficult to grasp there?

As Dele Alli has shown everyone, form and application are variable. All players have dips - some never recover. With application comes form and then talent shines through.

Michael Keane is not poo. He is a talented footballer who hit a run of inconsistent form largely due to injury, Manager changes, maybe some psychological demons and general team poor form.

He is showing the right application now (in my opinion) to try to turn that around, he is contributing positively to the team which is why we should back him.

He's not had that many injury issues, the other excuses are part of what makes someone a good player, who can adapt to a new manager, who can show mental resilience, who can lift a team when they're bad. He is indeed showing the right application now, I will agree with that, and I hope it continues because I love anyone in blue, but he's very limited. We'll agree to disagree I guess.

Daft comparison Kendall/ Neville they occupied completely different position which required different skill set let alone decade's apart. Where Ince and Palmer occupied similar if not the same position in the same time frame. Think Keane is average EPLcentre back who is brave and is goal threat to opposition, pretty important to this current Everton squad.
Missed the point, which was that the amount of England caps you get as a player is inconsequential to your ability for your club, nothing to do with what type of player they were.

I looked at his numbers, and he is a really big threat of set plays, like one of the biggest in the league.

Given how important they are to Dyche's system, it's easy to see why hes in the team. He wins headers, causes probably off corners and makes a lot of clearances.

Correct, Kendall couldn’t consistently chip a ball down the line the way Neville could.

...and of course, gives away goals :p
