I wouldnt mind securing him now and him staying at Burnley until the summer. That way we secure his signature for next season and Burnleu get to keep an important player for the rest of the season. We have enough cover to get through the next couple of months.

Spoke to the burnley ST holder at work. He said he will be gutted if Keane leaves (although he doesn't think it will be this window). Said he was good at all facets of the game, positioning, tackling in the air although he didn't think he excelled at anything. Sounds like another clone of a younger jagielka to me. But he did add he would be a very good signing for us, should he leave.

Dave you do realsie that he has 18 months left on his contract and it's widely known he won't sign a new one, so you think that once he enters the last year of his contract then the price Burnley can get will go up?

Can you think of any single instance ever in football when a player entering the last year of his contract got his club a better fee due to that?

Do you have ANY firm idea what Everton might have offered? Fair to say if a club in the CL spots want to invest in a young English talent like him they'll pay more than Everton will.
